I think Masterson will come good, CBs take time to get consistent especially when no one else around you has a fucking clue what day it is. Dieng behind Kaykay / Dickie / Masterson / Nikko and give them a few games. A stable back four week in week out, everyone knows their job. One day maybe... This, although I am disappointed that we don't have a proven keeper. With one or two exceptions we've always had good keepers since I started coming here back in the 60s.

Yes Alan, from Phil Parkes when I started coming we had a run of good keepers including several internationals

Hector has started every league game bar one this season for Fulham and was selected for derby against Brentford. Can’t see them letting him go

Like Materson and think he will be player but in the ideal world he would do a season of big boys football, learning the game and making his mistakes at another team and then coming back match ready as Eze did
He was superb when he first came into team last season then was responsible for few goals longer he was in, but you can see the potential
Do I think he’s currently good/reliable enough to play 25/30 games if one of the CB went down, no not currently. Would he be good enough dip in and out team when needed then yes. But is dipping him in and out for last ten mins and game here and there going make him better and what we need long term? Probably not, it will be to his detriment
What are we six games into the season and aside from cup game he’s not kicked a ball. If he’s not going play semi regularly get him out on loan get him some games under his belt so he’s ready to go like Kakay start of next season

He’s not first choice so can understand why you’d loan him out. But then we need 4 centre backs ideally but you can probably get by with 3. Could Barbet play left back and get a good loan centre back in?

Keep him, play him. Loaning out is a lottery - didn't improve Shodipo and Hamalainen isn't getting a look in - and I can hear you all moaning now when Cameron ends up at CB.

Isn't squad rotation the idea these days? Gives players a chance to take. Not good enough get rid, replace, don't loan out.

It shouldn't be a lottery. The clubs getting them must be saying if they will be starting or rotation etc. If the loans didn't improve them, or they didn't work hard to get into the team then it comes down to the player.

It would do him the world of good, even if it was just a loan until January or something where he can get games under his belt. A few long balls caught him out last season, so dropping to league 1 where it's slighty more hit and hope would help develop him. Learn the basics, come back and show us what he learnt.

If we get Flint or Hector on loan and Materson goes out to a league 1 team then I think that will be great business.
I’d expect Hector or Flint to really push Barbet for a cb start but tbh I wouldn’t rule outW moving Barbet to LB as I think he ISE to pay him occasionally there at Brentford.
