So, given the financial constraints we probably need to sell 1 or 2 of our best players and we can’t afford to sack McLaren, who do you keep / sell / get rid of?
I would make my 3 priorities keeping Feeman, Rangel and somehow getting Cameron on a free. Make Freeman captain.
Sell Eze and Luongo - we need cash.
With Rangel, Cameron, Freeman and Leinster we have a decent spine to the team. Add to that an in form Lumley in goal.
Look to sign 2-3 loan players - priority being a striker and a physical and athletic central midfielder (so we can turn over Preston at least).
I would like to keep Pav, Bidwell for example but if we can’t afford wages, then I won’t lose any sleep over anyone else going. But clearly if we need to get rid of eg Bidwell, then get a cheaper replacement.

Good post James, agree with most of that.
Re key players for next season, the obvious one would be Chair, who should be even better following his loan experience.
I'd like to hold on to Wells too if we can afford him.

Completely forgot about Chair. Yes I’d definitely try to keep him.
Wells on loan would be good. No chance of perm though

I cant disagree with anything you said James, Stan too. Good posts. I think we'll be limited to loans and frees mainly but wouldn't mind us signing a gem from the lower leagues for a small fee, as long as we can afford it.

With Smyth and Chair, we do need a big brute of a central midfielder to sit alongside Cameron and Freeman.

If we sell Luongo and Eze, we should have some of that cash for players I’d hope. Not much but maybe a bit of it. We need to sign another few gems because I think Eze, Luongo and Freeman are the only ones who we could sell for a few million.

Penrice is the key player. He needs to deliver quality players within our financial envelope
It’s time for him to step up

We need to get some fitter athletes. Look like a pub team at times. A treat to see a bit of pace from BOS. An average player with pace will still worry a defence.

Freeman is our most valuable player, so I reckon he'll be gone, freeing up some cash to keep maybe Cameron and Rangel, although age and their injuries make me doubtful we'll go for both. We've got Smyth, Chair and Oteh to come back. I'd say keep Pav if possible. Lynch can go, especially as Hall looks like he's over his injury. We might get Wells on loan again. Don't think we can expect much from next season, balancing the books will be the no.1 priority.
