Date: 23rd May 2019 at 7:00am Written by: Football Insider EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke Rangers are in the hunt to sign Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Seny Dieng, Football Insider understands. Dieng has come to the attention of Rangers after impressing on loan at Dundee during the second half of this season. The 24-year-old was one of Dundee’s shining lights during his loan spell, despite the club suffering relegation from the Scottish Premiership. Dieng is out of contract at QPR next month and a Rangers source has told Football Insider he has been offered a new deal but has yet to agree anything alerting them and other clubs to his potential availability on a free transfer this summer. Rangers are in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements this summer with current No.2 Wes Foderingham expected to move on and Dieng has emerged on their list of targets. League One side Shrewsbury Town along with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, French outfit Strasbourg and American team Minnesota United are also weighing up moves for Dieng if he becomes a free agent. The athletic shot-stopper has yet to make his first-team debut for QPR, but he made 34 appearances this season during his loan spells at Stevenage and Dundee. www.footballinsider247.com/ibrox-exclusive-rangers-set-sights-on-london-based-24-yr-old-available-on-a-free/

QPR block move for forward SmythBy London Football News 22/05/2019 Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed that his club tried to sign Paul Smyth from QPR. Smyth, who ended last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, was out of the picture under former R’s boss Steve McClaren. But Rangers refused to let the Northern Ireland forward leave and expect him to play a key role next season. Answering questions from fans on Twitter, McAnthony revealed that Posh director of football Barry Fry went to watch Smyth and wanted to snap him up. “We tried to buy him. Great young player,” MacAthony wrote. Smyth, meanwhile, has told QPR’s website that he is determined to make an impact at Loftus Road under new manager Mark Warburton. “This is a new start for me with a new person to impress,” he said. “Fingers crossed I can do that and hopefully get a place in his team. If I can’t do that then I will work hard to get that spot. I spoke to Jake Bidwell who said he is a very good coach and a very good manager so I am really looking forward to getting started under him.” londonfootballnews.co.uk/qpr/qpr-block-move-for-forward-smyth/

Five-times capped Dutch midfielder linked with Blackburn Rovers and QPR moveBy Rich Sharpe @richsharpe89 Rovers Reporter Rovers and QPR have been linked with a move for Dutch midfielder Adam Maher. Reports in Holland say the midfielder has told his club, AZ Alkmaar, that he won’t be extending his contract and is set to leave as a free agent. Rovers are one of six clubs linked to Maher, alongside Championship rivals QPR, with Maher also said to have interest from Vitesse, Fenerbache, Brescia and Celtic. Tony Mowbray and his recruitment teams have made several trips to the continent in recent weeks, and it is understood one of those was to Alkmaar after last month's win over Bolton Wanderers. Mowbray is looking to recruit technical midfield players as he looks to play a more progressive style, and the 25-year-old would fit that bill. The boss is keen for Rovers to tap in to the European scene this summer which will have formed part of his discussions with owners Venky's during the last week. Rovers are set to look at the free agent market, though are wary of wage demands attached to any prospective signings, and Maher's links with several other clubs is also likely to bump up any such discussions over wages. But a move to England is thought to be under consideration for the five-times capped Dutch international who is yet to play outside of Holland, a short loan spell in Turkey apart. Maher came through the ranks at AZ, making his debut as a 17-year-old, before making the switch to PSV in 2016 for around £7m. However, he started just 58 league games across four-and-a-half years, including a spell out on loan and joined FC Twente on a short-term deal in January 2018. He then returned to AZ last summer and has played 24 Eredivisie matches this season. On Maher’s decision to leave the club, Max Huiberts, director of football affairs of AZ told Voetbal International: "It surprised us. We initially received signals from Adam and his agent/ That voted us positively. We were awaiting a response to our latest contract offer. Instead, we received a phone call saying Adam is leaving. That surprised us" www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17664623.five-times-capped-dutch-midfielder-linked-with-rovers-move/

Maher staying in holland.
Blackburn and QPR’s plans for the summer transfer window, after it was reported by De Telegraaf that midfield target Adam Maher is set to join Dutch side FC Utrecht.
The publication had reported over the weekend that both Championship sides, as well as Scottish champions Celtic, had been interested in signing the midfielder, who is set to become a free agent after turning down the chance to sign a new contract with current side AZ Alkmaar.

Steer well clear. Proper lightweight if that Sunderland doc is anything to go by. Gets injured if you hurt his feelings or breath on him too hard.

albert adomah has been released by aston villa. qpr fan who has said before that he'd love to play for us one day.
i imagine he could still get into a good championship side though but he'd be worth trying to bring in

But question is how much he really loves us. Like West Acton suggested he will be better payed at other clubs.

Exclusive: QPR plot swoop to sign Chelsea defenderDate: 2nd June 2019 at 11:00am Written by: Football Insider Exclusive By Pete O’Rourke Chelsea defender Jay Dasilva is a target for Championship duo Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City, Football Insider understands. The highly-rated full-back, 21, spent last season on loan at Bristol City and the club are keen on signing the player on a permanent basis. A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that Dasilva’s form has alerted a number of other clubs and QPR are understood to be keen to lure him to Loftus Road. The Europa League winners have yet to make a decision on Dasilva’s future, but they could opt to loan him out next season rather than sell him due to their impending transfer ban. A loan deal would suit QPR, who are in the market for a new left-back this summer following Jake Bidwell’s departure at the end of the season. Dasilva is among their top targets as they look to reshape the squad following the recent appointment of Mark Warburton as the new manager. The left-back made 32 appearances for Bristol City last season and established himself as a fans’ favourite at Ashton Gate. www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-london-club-plot-swoop-to-sign-chelsea-wide-man/

Wasn't that Jay Dasilva being touted as the next Ashley Cole a few seasons back? Could see us getting him on loan, but really don't see how we have the funds to be signing highly rated England U21 players on permanent deals.

Will be out of our pay range unless he likes being paid in buttons We'll never match what Villa would most likely have been paying him, that's for sure. But I'm not sure many clubs will be in a position to offer particularly attractive terms to a 32 year old, Championship standard winger. On a side note, Villa released 7 other players this week too. Some half decent players amongst them, but all knocking on. Remember Micah Richards? He was 1 of the 8 players released. Hasn't kicked a ball in 2 years, apparently hasn't been keeping himself fit enough to play. I must admit, I'd not even realised he was still at Villa. Awful shame, he was a cracking player in his younger days!

Leeds United set to table bid for QPR star BY LONDON FOOTBALL NEWS 03/06/2019 Leeds United are set to make a move for QPR playmaker Luke Freeman. Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to snap up Freeman, who was outstanding in Rangers’ home win against the Yorkshire side last season. Leeds have been linked with Freeman and his QPR team-mate Ebere Eze. While a move for young forward Eze seems unlikely, Leeds are expected to make Rangers an offer for Freeman. The London club will not want to lose him on the cheap – Freeman was their player of the year and extended his contract last season. There is no doubt he has the quality to play at the top end of the Championship, as he showed against Leeds at Loftus Road. Speaking after that game, the then QPR boss Steve McClaren made it clear he believed Freeman was capable of playing at a higher level – and that he would grace Bielsa’s Leeds side. McClaren told West London Sport: “He showed his real quality and infectious enthusiasm that he gives to the team. “When you’re looking for leadership and looking for people to have courage and take the ball, he’s got all that. “He’s someone who can play at the top of the Championship, could play in that Leeds team and could play in the Premier League, so we’re delighted to have him here.” Rangers turned down offers from Middlesbrough for Freeman last summer. londonfootballnews.co.uk/qpr/qpr-luke-freeman-leeds-united-marcelo-bielsa-move/
