Anybody here shrewd in business matters to realise what Covid 19 may cost the club ?
I’m just wondering how much of Eze and Bos proposed transfer income is swallowed up by Covid ?
My speculative guess Covid would cost the club less than £5m.

Can't think we are making more than a few hundred thousand pounds each game in terms of match day revenue. The problem is most clubs outside of the top flight barely break even. Whilst a few million quid may sound like a drop in the ocean in football terms it's still gonna need to be paid by the owners of clubs, many of whom are also facing losses across their other business interests due to Covid-19. There is also the problem of sides at the top of the pyramid losing out on significant match day revenues, the Arsenals & Spurs of this world probably earn millions every week in match day revenues. Again, some of these clubs will drop into the red this season and will have less money to spend as a result. This will have a knock on effect that will be felt the whole way down the football league. I wouldn't want to be a player out of contract this summer.

Yep I agree Tarbie. just as a rough figure leaning towards negative side I thought a loss of roughly 2m in gate receipts plus sponsorship , then cost of testing staff =£4m max ?

So thats roughly 240k GBP per home game I guess then. But if that's receipts then you'd assume its not all profit. Between staffing, policing and catering there are probably quite a few overheads to offset that we also wouldn't be incurring for behind closed doors games.

Met Police figures for 2017-18 approx £375k for the season. Millwall, Brentford, Reading, Leeds, Birmingham etc. all much higher costs to police compared to the Burton Albion game for instance.

Would have thought that the food, beer, walk up prices and merchandise would make it a fairly decent amount? Plus the refunds that they are having to pay out.

Macclesfield Town being wound up now. Makes you wonder how many clubs are on the brink.
