Agree 73 as huge potential. Just hope someone is investing loads of time in him on the training pitch as he’s 100% worth the effort It will come with time and will improve no end if we get a mobile forward who run off the ball. When Eze and BOS go can see Chair stepping up to being the main man in the team in the next 12 to 18 months.

lumley has been named in the team of the week.
thought he had a solid game for us and looked as confident and as composed as he was last season. maybe its because he has a stubble beard now, its like in an action movie when the good guy goes through some hardship and comes out the other side more rugged and determined with a beard to match

Playing BOS upfront as lone striker looks our best option if Hugill remains out with injury.
He looks like he has the physical strength and skills to play that role and if he does well it can only improve his future transfer value.
Would like to see Eze up his game of late and look to play passes into BOS in more dangerous areas behind defenders where his pace would leave most for dead.

problem with Hugill: 13 champ goals, but just one assist (Eze: 12 and 8) and a relatively poor mpg ratio. Source: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorersHe also has a tendency to block channels, he gets static off the ball although by the time he's in the box he's better. He wont go back to WHU unless there is a total meltdown there (always possible). A bit of a conundrum.

Totally agree Hal9thou. We can do so much better elsewhere for less than what Hugill would cost. Hugill does not even hit the target in 2 out of three chances . Would be agony playing in a need to win match relying on Hugill to at least hit the target never mind score.

Blows my mind that people are coating off a striker who has 15 goals for us this season. 4 more and he equals Charlie Austin's league goals tally in his first season for us, the same Austin no one moaned about, who also missed hatfuls of chances.

Hugill has done well for us as 15 goals show this season but should we look to sign him consideting the fee and finance involved then it would be no. If we had a decent budget maybe but if we are looking at blowing it on just him then I would leave him alone.

He's perfect for us, good champ player not quite prem but we probably can't/won't afford him and didn't Moyes buy him for West Ham? Now Moyes is back they'll want him.

Reminds me a lot of OBZ. Can miss a sitter, holds the ball up well and can score the occasional blinder.

Austin must've been too then. And Taarabt. I mean if donkeys get 15+ goals in a season then that must be them.

Cannot compare the two based on just stats, Austin was on a different level to Hugill and missed quite a few games up until the back end of the season which could have cost us automatic pronotion that season. Hugill has done well no doubting that but he is no Charlie Austin. .

It's just reality.
1 assist, 13 championship goals in a side set up for an attacking high possession game. Eze only has one less but many more assists. Adel was MF so that was a greater achievement and Chaz was still visibly improving.
Yes, you could say assists don't matter if the job is scoring goals, but the key goal scoring stat is MPG and when he arrived you could see how average that was.
Those are facts. Opinion wise I simply don't rate him that highly. He's dead space for long periods. He looks ok with us because we have no depth whatsoever in the out and out 9 dept.
Still, whatever floats yer boat.

If we can keep Chair and Bettache and maybe BOS , I can`t see any problem with keeping Hugill if we can get him on a loan. God knows, we have had many poor strikers at QPR these few last seasons and beyond. Hugill and Ramkilde is a start, but we need another one. Our scouts have probably a few options in mind..
