Ginge we’ve played two league 1 teams and lost, it’s hardly confidence inspiring as well is it? We have a weaker defence than last year in which that defence has one of the worst statistics on the league and we don’t have the same fire power to our score teams currently. As things stand I’m not quite sure what fans are hanging on to that says we are geared up to starve of a relegation fight. I am holding on to the thought that the last two games are hopefully scaring the shit out of our owners and we are going to bring in 5 or 6 decent signings because we desperately need it! How have we got a weaker defence? Because hall has gone? He’s been replaced by arguably the best defender in league 1. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to be doing? Buying low and selling high? Can’t really count leistner he wasn’t here for most of the season. We’ve left number 5 free. It doesn’t take a genius to work out what the clubs plans are with that does it? How has our defence not got weaker? We lost Rangel, Leinster and Hall, all experienced championship defenders and so far we’ve replaced them with one defender. People dismiss Leinster but it was MW’s decision not to play him and loan him out and we suffered for that when Barbet got injured as we didn’t have the depth to replace him, hence why Materson was chucked in and we continued to ship goals left right and centre. Dickie is a good signing but we had one of the worst defences as a whole last season and he cant just fix that on his own. Sorry but where is this confidence is our defence coming from as we were a shambles last season and so far against two lower league clubs we have showed the same vulnerabilities and the fact is you might now take the last two games seriously but the league starts next week and what makes you think we are just going to turn it on? I’m still waiting for someone to give a reasonable explanation based on the players we have now how we have rectified our defence and where the goals are coming from to replace the players we have lost up top? Right now we have leaky defence and no fire power. |

Maids, I honestly Kakay, Niko and Dickie more or less step straight in in place of the 3 defenders that you've mentioned. I also think we'll bring in at least 1 more first team defender.

I genuinely think we will get relegated with the team we have right now. This league is very tight and I think if MW and co can bring in 4/5/6 decent signings then over night we can easily compete. However, right now we much weaker than last year defensively and we don’t have the fire power to get us out of trouble that we did last season. Anyone know why Barbet wasn’t in the squad today? Hopefully not injured again because if so that’s another big issue! Hopefully some of the rumours that the likes of Adomah, Austin, Watson, Chaplin, Jones are true and that we also look at another cb and GK. We need to add some savy champ level players to the team ASAP and not rely on the kids. Chair is not Eze and feel sorry for the lad as he’s a level or two below and I think he will frustrate many people here in the upcoming weeks.Am I right in thinking that MW played Amos in the 10 slot again today? That is my worry as well. Imo, he is a work in progress and will most likely need more time to fullfill his potential. |

Leistner I’m not having as we were leaking goals with and without him and he’s not in warbs plans and wasn’t here for the back end of the season. Hall for me has been replaced with a younger more mobile version with a considerable potential to earn a few quid. I do think we are perhaps 1 cb short which is why I’m assuming 5s been left empty. They must be looking. I like masterson. Manning has got to stop playing left back but Wallace isn’t reliable enough fitness wise. Maybe they think niko will make the grade? At the end of the day I trust the club to add the quality required to see us looking more towards the top half than the bottom. Maybe I’m being naive but I don’t think we’re half as bad as some are making out. Manning is the issue for me, I watched the game yesterday and the midfield and in particular Amos gave the ball away high up the field and left us exposed on the break. We have to bare in mind that the majority of these players will improve with experiance and age not the other way round as it’s traditionally been signing has beens. I guess the way we set up is the trade off. Compare this style of football to say mclarens or Holloway’s and I know which one I’d prefer to pay to watch. Or play. Warbs does seem a bit pig headed with regards to the defence I’ll give you that |

What I cannot have is a 3rd season without a proven keeper and a 2nd season defending as bad as the 1st. MW needs to address both points as what is the point of scoring 2 away like yesterday and shipping in 3? Cannot go anywhere like that |

Yeah I was disappointed, of course I was. But I'm not pressing the "OH MY GOD WE'RE GETTING RELEGATED" button just yet, am I? No, you are trying to stay as positive as possible, I guess - But What I find thought provoking is that Warburton doesn`t mention our poor defensive fragilties at all. In the end such a take at a very important part of the game might eventually lead to relegation whether he likes it or not. No he doesn't, which is frustrating as hell. He can't or won't see what we've seen for the last year, we need a better defence. |

Both have done well on loan and deserve their chance. And let's be honest, 2 of the players you've mentioned that we've lost were bit part players last season. Honestly, 1 more first team defender and we are covered. The issue with our defence comes from the coaching/tactics rather than the personell in my opinion. |
