Not the answer. But possibly our best RWB option until the January window.

Agree with all the praise but he’s no WB. Massive risk playing him there - worth taking against lesser teams but we won’t get away with it if we think he’s the answer. Agree mate, Albert wasn't even really playing as a RWB most of the time. McCallum seemed to be sitting a bit more than normal and the whole defence was shuffling over with Dunne playing RB at times. Won't work against better sides.

I’m really disappointed Kakay hasn’t progressed, thought he had it.

Love Albert. It's characters like him that we need in our dressing room.

Albert extending for another year. I’m ok with that tbh. Club needs characters. Option off the bench to rev up team and crowd.

Albert was ok but first thoughts are could the money be better used
I was not Massively impressed, yes it’s easy to get carried away with his enthusiasm but if you break it down to actual contribution there was not an awful lot. If it was choice between him and Moses I would take Moses

Valuable with his experience to the new man coming in. Still puts a shift in and as said before puts a decent ball in and he can also finish

I wouldnt say no to another year of Uncle Albert. Legs were going towards the end of the season but his presence in the dressing would benefit our younger players no end.

i'd be very happy having uncs around purely for vibes. still a good player but many of the younger players look up to him which is just as important imo

Great squad player. Shows the younger players how to act and his love for the club is infectious. Characters can make a squad and he’s a good one to have. I imagine his wages will be lower now as well.

Although he’s probably had to make difficult decisions before with obviously younger players Albert appears to be looking to impress MB for a contract renewal in the next few days.
Probably a bit of an early test for MB managerial skills at this club.

albert should be kept around 100%. very good option off the bench and with wallace gone it leaves pretty much just he and stef as the senior pro's in the team. lots of players have already said they go to him for advice and as an agony aunt type of figure, plus his love for the club and vibes would rub off on the younger players which is always good.

I would love him to stay. Would do a job from the bench, plus is a good character to have around. Seems to be keeping himself fit based on social media (though, we all know how much of a lie this can be).

My understanding is that we want to retain Albert for another season. I also understand that he was one of our top earners last season. With that in mind, I'm assuming what is going on now is simply a negotiation process.

From what WLS put out Albert has agreed terms on a new contract but was subject to MB approval

Is that right?
I take it back then. Nice to hear of processes being handled in an orderly and sensible fashion. Maybe we are actually learning a thing or 2!

2 year deal. Blimey. Beale knows the value of having an old head who’s passionate about the club and a model professional in the camp. I’m actually really pleased with that. Plus he’s still got magic in the old wands. Well done uncs

As Beale says a great guy to have around, especially with the younger players we seem to be after.

Think people underestimate the impact of a mentor for a young group when their backs are against the wall in a dog fight. Someone who knows what the fans demand. And he’s still a bloody good option going forward. Would like to see him further forward this year. Let’s also not forget players like Paul furlong never started even winning the crowd over until he was alberts age so I’m not in the least bit concerned about that. Delighted he’s signed
