did we not have a thread about goals scored? i remember saying dykes wont get double figures. well happy with the clean sheets so far, my man Dickie has come in and has built a mini berlin wall at the back. just a shame we have shit up front now. Agree about Dickie but that was his poorestgame for us yesterday I thought. Yep. And Preston he wasn't too clever either, his fault the second pen. I do like him but he needs to work on his passing too, dreadful.

Just being realistic. I don't think we've looked particularly good at the back. Dickie and Kakay have impressed but we are still all over the place at times and good teams will punish us. Bournemouth sold their strikers and Grabban was poor for Forest. I'd rather be half full but I can see problems at the moment. Like I say, just being realistic. last season we would play poorly and lose that game one nil. This season we defend well keep the clean sheet and we’re still not happy. Is that not an improvement?? Not a great overall performance or entertaining but kept clean sheet so credit where it’s due Seven games in last season we had conceded 11 in the league and never got a clean sheet until 7 Dec five months into the season. This season we have conceded 7 in the same amount of league games and have 3 clean sheets already 6 weeks into the season. Surely that’s something to be happy with instead of critical We’re tighter at the back but alas it’s nothing to do with us or any hard work which has been done on training pitch etc it’s because opposition are rubbish 🙄 In another thread you say we are bang average. That's all I'm saying too.

At same time I’m able to see positives without looking for a negative.

That is really unfair to say I flip flop when opinions change like the players. Whatever I thought of last season is irrelevant, this is a different team and I am entirely consistent in my view that we're not as good as we (fans) think we are. Yes, 80% of teams maybe the same, it's the 20% that I'm on about so we'll need to do better against the poorer ones. Not negative, not rose tinted, just an honest opinion and if I'm wrong fantastic. 7 points from 21 when 6 of those teams are in the 80% is a concern.

Conversation was not about points or how good or average a side we have it was specifically about clean sheets!!
Again last season you were unhappy about lack of clean sheets (rightly so as I was too) this season we have kept clean sheets in almost 50% of our games but you remain unhappy and managed to put a negative slant on it hence my challenge back to you. Flip flop comment remains

Funny isn't it; last year we score and concede for fun and some fans were slating the defence. This year, we aren't scoring or conceding and now it's bad again.
Last year scoring for fun I guess made it more frustrating as the amount we scored meant we should win more, really. This year, when goals dry up then we panic.
But, building on clean sheets is a lot easier. The goals will come back as our style hasn't changed too much.

When you look at goals conceded this season we compare very well to rest of division.
Just seen reading have only let in one goal 😳 that’s mental

Clean sheets or not: Personally, having my QPR to watch during this lockdown makes me very happy. A relegation will of course change that but so far I chose to look at it that way. Just my take at it.

Long may it continue.
Helps when you finally realise you have had a keeper all the time.

The difference between us and Swansea being in the playoffs last season was they lost less than us. They didn't win more games.

Dickie is top class. Makes huge difference at back and going forward. Great signing. Amount of headers and clearances he made was outstanding

Stand out plus point is how many times we now catch teams off-side now since Dickie has joined...that hasn’t been the case for a long long time.

Silly red card but came back and was different class last night. he's been a great signing and has revolutionised our backline. reminds me a bit of harry maguire in his playstyle in that he's defensively good and solid on the ball. dieng is a massive improvement on lumley and kelly too. those two made you nervous and whilst they could do the bare basics ok you couldn't rely on them to pull off saves on good shots. dieng does all the basics well and is a great shot stopper too.

Think defence is best part of out game at moment. Comfortably better defensively then last year. Still not perfect but work in progress

Cameron's experience in that back 3 is proving to be great for the team and the boys around him who are now making less basic mistakes.
