would be fascinating to know what Ainsworth thought he was doing and having seen how we can play under Marti whether he would do things differently - or if he only knows one way Just think they're not in the same stratosphere as coaches / managers and it's as simple as that. Chris Willock on form is a major asset to our team and clearly excels in a footballing football team. MW, Beale and Marti all play in a positive way which has and is getting the best out of Willock. Sign another deal is a good option for him as this manager will only improve him and is going nowhere which will help Willock reach his full potential.

Unless he has unusual levels of loyalty towards the club, the prospect of a nice fat signing fee, his wages doubled (or more…) and the chance of playing for a top Championship side (or even potentially a Prem side). Wondering if the likes of an improving Sunderland might attract him (and he’d be near his brother), or a relatively wealthy relegated Burnley. I have very little expectation that he’ll stay with us.

Not convinced of that personally. All depends how the club sell it to him. E.g. he could be playing premiership football for qpr under Marti in 1.5 years with a nice fat wage to go boot.

Who knows. Same applies again: all depends how the club is sold to him (and if he continues to deliver, of course).

Tbf, his 14 games for Ainsworth adds up to about 42 minutes worth of football. Good to see him sprint that far for the 2nd goal. A few questions about if he can/will run again.

What a lazy, disinterested cunt. The fucker is coasting the remainder of the season. Needs to be left to rot in the reserves.

Very quiet today.
Not putting his influence or ability on games.

If we’re going to stay up, he needs to step up. On his day he's a match for any team in this league. The problem is those days are too few and far between. I agree with you though - he really could make all the difference to our survival.

He's off on a free in the summer anyway. I suspect we will get more of the same between now & then. The odd glimmer of class buried in a whole host of abject shitness.

Yesterday, he seemed very scared of being injured.

What was the term Rowan Vine used? "Playing with the Joeys" or something?

What was the term Rowan Vine used? "Playing with the Joeys" or something? That used to be an insulting term when I was young due to Blue Peters Joey Deacon who was a quadriplegic, so when kids wanted to insult someone they’d call them a Joey. Not saying Vine meant that but does sound like similar context.

Joey was amazing, he couldn’t eat a ice cream without missing his head but managed to build a load of bungalows 💁🏼♂️

Interesting stats. Impressive from Paal. Dozzell's stats surprisingly good on that metric (weird how the naked eye and stats can often tell you such different things). Re Willock, he is frustrating as hell but hard to see on the basis of that why fan' are calling for Smyth over him.

Read elsewhere that Willock's dad turned down a move to Huddersfield over wages. Wonder if over the next few months he might take a cold hard look at his situation. If Huddersfield is the best he can do now, maybe the devil he knows here might be better. And if not, what is he doing to improve his fitness and get himself in the shop window because as things stand his career is only going one way.

Needs dropping today for Smyth.
Smyth gets lots of balls into the box. Lets give the new fella plenty to feed off today.

So we officially get fuck all for him end of season as out of contract.
Quite a turnaround from two seasons back when we had him as a 10mil valuation to getting nothing.

Yup, one great season, then injury, followed by couldn't-give-a-toss apathy. Great player on his day, but really disappointed in him as a man. Gutless, spineless parasite.
