Did anyone else read that as a veiled confession that FFP was a fucking stupid idea that wasn't working?

Executive summary:
Parachute payments are shit. FFP is shit. We imposed those. Let's give more power to those low life big six cocksuckers and their scumbag enablers Sky and fuck football even more.

Liverpool and United should just be told to keep their fucking noses out. Decisions about football in this country should be decided 92 clubs at any given time.
Would far prefer the Premier League to be abolished and get back to the way football used to be in this country. The way it was quite happily jogging along until a few greedy bastards decided to not give a shit about other teams.

Yeah, it used to just be called the 1st Division, 2nd Division, 3rd Division and 4th Division.
If it ain’t broke... And it wasn’t! Far from it. It was thriving, simpler, fairer, more meritocratic and less corrupt.

read through it and a few other media outlets explaination of it as its quite confusing!
basically there will be a committee of 9 clubs, the big 6 + everton, southampton and west ham who will govern the premier league and in essence the rest of the EFL. a majority of 6 will be enough to push through any decision they need to push through any decision they want to make. they're holding the EFL to ransom by offering 250m a season to help sustain EFL clubs. with that in mind what stops them from voting in things that will solely benefit the bigger clubs? nothing pretty much.
i can't see it being pushed through but stranger things have happened

Just a ploy, they know they wont get their way. They make an offer,it rejected, they then make a euro super league .They be gone from English league within 3 years.

They be gone from English league within 3 years. People have been saying that for 20 years and it still hasn't happened. I agree their stance is just a negotiation tactic though, of which will now rumble on for months. But it's normal to set your initial stall out as unreasonable.

Basically ensuring that the top 6 won't change.

I just knew that shipping 13 goals between them in their last games would bring about a fit of pique.
Based upon current form, they’d be the two to miss out. 😂

Stanley, they have put demands down that are on the whole a mafia syndicate. They either know how desperate clubs are or have another angle. They dint need playing sheff Utd,they want a super product, they can sell on tv say 10-12 teams, then finish season early and play friendlies rest of time abroad raking in the punters.

I agree it's a cartel. We have laws in this country to tackle that, which should be enacted on. Perhaps that's what the EFL should focus their efforts on.

Parry is guilty of vested interests since he was working on this deal before becoming EFL chairman, and it will massively prejudice any EFL club with the aim of getting to the top table. And all for what, 240m? ie about four average top six transfers.
Sadly, I'd lay money down that we're one of the EFL clubs supporting this steal.

Better still if EFL clubs never kept expecting prem to bailout and going cap in hand to them they would have no hold or influence

Could result in the top six splitting the prem. There's a rumour that if that were to happen, they would be welcomed into the football league, presumably at a level above the hoi polloi. Parry has been asked about this and refused to deny the possibility.
All of which further illustrates the massive conflict of interest he's kept under wraps during his EFL stint. If I were a club which had been disadvantaged in any way at all under his stewardship I'd have been onto m'learned friends this morning. Make no mistake, he's been a top six boy all along.
Covid gave him the opportunity to come out of the closet. What he didn't bargain for was evidence that he'd started these discussions a long, long time ago.

The top six spitting off? Brilliant. Can play each other every week on shitty Sky. Reconstitute all other clubs in a proper competitive league with four divisions 👍🏻

With the odd Leicester/Wimbledon type exception the same teams have won everything for the past 40 - 50 years and that is less likely to change than ever now.

What's basically happening here is that the entire structure is being held to ransom by a handful of billionaire foreign owners, who are cynically using Covid as an opportunity to scatter the chicken feed.
Parry is the middle man.
I don't know if anyone else has seen details, but the power these guys are going to wield over everyone else is breathtaking.
My guess is that this is the calculated opening gambit in a massive power struggle. If you're a championship club with any ambition at all you can not go along with this. I'd be very interested to hear the view from our boardroom....

The Glazer's and Woodward at the heart of it now there is a suprise! No coincidence that 3 out of the top 6 are Yank owned and are pushing for this. Fuck them off along with Sky and have a proper competitive football league and not a Brand that is dominated by tossers like Kroenke and The Glazers.

Yep. Money will talk. They're paying the FA off with a £100m bung, which they can spend on women's football. Buying EFL clubs too with promises of temporary spondoolies. Anything they do will be bad. It's as plain as day. Expel the top six. Fuck them right over.

The Glazers especially should be fucked right out of it when you consider how much they have already creaned off the top at United. Greedy parasites the lot of them.
