Cutting it a bit fine unless something is already happening. loads of time still three days. Some teams do deals from nowhere in last few hours. Cant see it happening as why would anyone want him. If was true I would knock on Norwich’s door for Hughill, I reckon we could get him out of there on loan or the cheap.

Blackburn forum are saying the Dykes rumour is folly and it’s George Hirst (Leicester)thats more likely, he’s the the son of David Hirst ex Sheff wed striker, got double figures at Pompey on loan last season.

Can believe that. Can't believe any club would be so stupid to part money for such a powder puff, lazy, thick, shit 'striker'

Felt for him tonight. Thought he held up play well at times and put himself about. Terrible miss though.
Needs to be taken out of the firing line. Give someone else a chance. He’s just not doing it.
Would like to see him score for his confidence. Even better though I’d like to see him sold. It’s gone sour for him and us and Dykes need a fresh start, apart.

He’s had some generous comments tonight for running about and getting involved a bit more. That doesn’t make him a pro footballer for me. In Sunday leagues you see blokes who’ve been on the lager Saturday running about and getting involved. He is a poor player by any pro standard. I can’t see how he’s got where he is.

Agree Al and you know me, I’m not his biggest fan. Did think he done ok tonight holding play up and giving the CB’s a game for once. Just not enough though is it. A proper striker would flourish in this team. Really feel Dykes needs a rest from the side.

Where is rscot? QPR needs him now, because he could easily make Dykes into a 20 million pound striker minimum iirc.

Then somehow the ball gets to him and he dummies the keeper and somehow missed. I am glad we did not get on his back after and it almost felt like the crowd felt sorry for the bloke as that miss was as bad as it could be. Shame as he was a bit better tonight.

See, we’re still being kind. He’s a striker, there to score goals - and he doesn’t.

He does put in a shift for the team. Yet got to agree, he’s missed so many good chances this season. I would think a sub role might suit him.

And look at the situation we’re in. Options are a young guy who is being eased in gently, a bloke who doesn’t want to be here and someone who is looking like being a bit of a sick note at the moment. Thankfully we have Chair and Willock but it’s a long season.

I can’t think of another player that has been given so long and so many chances. It’s not games, it’s seasons. Washington put in a shift, that was never a criticism, but fans didn’t put up with his lack of striking ability.

But Washington didn’t even lead the line well. Dykes does put himself about and cause the defence issues, just by being a physical nuisance.

Genuinely felt quite sorry for Dykes last night (I mean I know he is being paid handsomely to be a footballer for a living so I shouldnt but hey ho!). He put in a decent shift and was better than he has been for the most part. When he missed that absolute sitter in the 2nd half you could see he was at a really low ebb (it would have been offside anyway but he didn't know that). Summed up where he is at atm tbh.
Couple of players came over and give him a chin up sort of thing which shows they must all be quite aware of it. Fans still signing his song etc which is good to see, but he is, plain & simple, just not good enough is he.

Agree Dykes works hard but come on, what is he paid to do ?
Fair play, we all got behind him last night after the miss but if it was 0-0 or we were losing, that would have been it.
