I would say Dykes could be benefiting from working under MB, It’s not often if at all that I’ve ever seen him control a high ball on his chest and swivel to get a shot away on target like he did against West Brom.Just needs to do that much more often.

My nan would’ve scored that goal before anyone defends the useless prick

Lets not jump on the bandwagon. Miss aside Dykes played quite well. Plenty of bigger culprits out there - Willock, Albert, what did they do?

Dykes is Dykes but our match winners are not scoring which highlights Dykes lack of goalscoring. How long since Willock and Chair scored? Tim shoots but never scores Field the same.

Do not disagree but at no stage has he been prolific we clearly struggle for goals when Willock and Chair have no end product. Full backs crossing past few games has been dire. Striker is needed and has been needed for 18 months

Respect your opinions Alan but I never bought the line on here that Beale has turned him into Harry Kayne, but tbf he actually won plenty of headers tonight, scored a goal, got a gash on the head and was still going for headers. We all know his limitations but there were plenty worse players out there tonight. Yet its as if they are untouchable and Dykes is the go-to player to blame when we lose. Albert useless, Willock useless, Laird useless, Balgoun a liability and an embarassment but they don't have their own dedicated threads to go over just how useless they were.

What did he do apart from a tap in? He won one food header so if that’s the marker we’re setting for a good effort we’re well and truly fucked

I'm the first to praise Lyndon when he plays well. He's been rubbish the last few games. Collectively they havr been shit. Saturday not one save in the second half from the WBA keeper. Dykes is average but the team in general have been below that for the past 4 or 5 games

But I do think there is a bit of bullying with him among the fan base (not saying you or any one individual, just collectively - imagine what it must be like for him to read). I named at least four other players elsewhere on here tonight who I thought were way worse. No one (as far as I've seen) has argued with those verdicts, but its all about how bad Dykes is. Bonne came on for 20 mins and did sweet FA. Very hard to sign a decent striker on our budgets.

Chair had a lot of ball but no goal or assist and Willock nothing these past 2 games. Dykes is poor but those around him have let speculation affect performances in a very negative manner.

Yes you’re right plenty of others were poor but they get away with it because they produce most other weeks. Dykes is shit literally every week. He’s just a really shit player in general.

With respect please tell me what Dykes does well I thought he did OK against their centre halves tonight - the problem was he was completely isolated. We played with three attacking players behind him but when we launched it (which we did quite often) they were never within 20 yards of him.

Sounds like mick dug him out a bit in the pre match interview. That’s how it sounded to me anyway. Non existent movement in the box for balls in, thought chair was actually more culpable than dykes tonight though. Greedy and immature

Whatever the rights, wrongs, good or bad about Dykes he is never a lone front man. He has neither the skill nor the instinct to play up on his own.

Agree, I reckon we could be ManCityLite but Roberts is clearly a sicknote, Willock is obviously still struggling and Richards has hardly figured. That only leaves Chair. He’s taking on too much and for all his energy and skill he plays as though he doesn’t trust his team mates and has to do everything himself. At the moment he might have a point☹️
