mental this. i don't know what the club has seen in him over the past 3 years to think that he's the guy to continue leading the line for us. he's been atrocious aside from a few games. oh well, here's hoping he can score 30+ to keep us up. Literally got to be a business decision as he’s performing for Scotland and likely going to a major tournament. Can’t be a football one he’s dog shit. Maybe compounded by the fact we've realised what he'll fetch in the transfer market this window won't afford us anyone worth having to replace him! |

I'm going to treat this like a new signing and give him a chance. Maybe more direct style will suit him better. I also believe we can increase his selling value as last season decreased it for sure.

I'm not a great defender of the club at the moment but if we hadn't extended the deal and he had gone in the future on the cheap many of those complaining now would have been saying "FFS why are the club so incompetent and letting all our assets leave for free?"

Mate, I heard rumours Les was on his way from people who know what they're on about as far back as March. I very much doubt his departure had much to do with him and Ainsworth being on a different wavelength regarding signings or contract renewals. |

Ill take the positive view on this.
At a time when most of our better, in demand players are running down their contract, we have made Dykes (our only international that plays a prominant part for their national team) see something that makes him want to extend his time with us. He could run the contract down, move on a free and probably earn more. He's just off the back of some good international games and had interest from Stoke and Millwall; so his stock is high.
I don't think he's great, but he's not terrible. A change in style may well suit him, we'll have to see.
