Those are my thoughts too on his hold up play Alan.
I think some fans may agree that Armstrong looks very limited skill wise with the ball but would really struggle to agree that Dykes is any better in that department either.

Mate, the reason we never see runners going past him is there’s no point. Our best football in recent times was when Chair and Willock were working together all over the pitch behind the front line. Even then we couldn’t get a cross over but Dykes holding the ball up doesn’t happen. |

We won’t know more about Armstrong until he plays under a decent manager. At 20 he should look better than he does if he’s going to make it, but he has only played in shit teams so far and the fans are desperate so too much pressure is on him.

It would be great to see what Warnock could do with Dykes as he’s been quite complimentary about him in the past.
