Nothing sensible or positive about making excuses for an inept manager except for being different. I'm not making excuses. I am just saying it as I see it. I have no reason to make an excuse for him. I think he needs to start getting results or he will be gone. I just don't know who is out there that is better than he is that we could afford. Who knows what salary we are paying MW and LF ? it would be feasible to say if both were released then a decent salary could be paid to a good candidate surely ? |

I support Warburton as long as we are competing and are above the relegation zone. Margins are very fine and therefore we have a good possibility to turn things around quite fast. Would be crazy to change the manager just for the sake of it. |

Yes we could afford to invest in a quality gaffer - which would actually be a sensible investment for stakeholders - but for some bizarre reason the board have chosen not to go down that route, time and again. You could start by chucking the DoF's salary into the pot.
The thing that really hurts is that we missed out on some candidates who were free when we were looking and who would have been relatively affordable at the time. One example - when Graham Potter first wanted to come back to the UK and manage, he was looking at championship level, this was like a year before his return. The same with Bilic pre WHU, who ironically is now available again. Very decent at this level. Same with the Benfica guy who was working in the championship as a coach under Carvalhal. Missed them all and many more.

I understand all the points and views expressed either way. What I don't hear is a reasonable defence of him not trying something different. Checkout the Kelman video, he has to be worth a look or how will we know? If he gives everyone a go and we're not good enough then fine, but don't sign a bright young talent or give a contract to an already long serving young player and not use them.

I agree and would like to see Kelman. I am not speaking for others but because I defend someone overall doesn't mean I don't see his weaknesses. I find him very frustrating but I still wouldn't change him yet. I suspect the writing is on the wall though if we don't pick up a win soon unfortunately. |
