If you aren't set up to play the way they have changed their game with tactical subs you have to respond. |

It’s actually interesting topic to debate don’t think there is right or wrong answer.

I applaud the fact that this problem has finally been addressed, but he's still poor in terms of game management. Let's see if he continues his policy of picking out of form players this evening. Either way I hope we destroy them. |

Lots of variables: Assuming it's not an injury, does the manager act pre-emptively, pro-actively or reactionary? A manager can keep making changes in reaction to the oppo's subs until the stage where both managers have used up all their subs, then it purely comes down to the players left on the pitch tactically dealing with the oppo as best they can. Making too many reactionary subs can result in you being worse off with the personnel left on the pitch. It's always a balancing act and will often come down to which manager is the more astute and canny, particularly with evenly matched squads. Another manager's approach is to just focus on playing to his own team's strengths, not react at all and let them worry about you. Do they stick to those core principles or do they waver from it depending on the degree of conviction in those principles. |
