By the time this gets posted he'll be gone. 'Differences' with Prince Abdullah...
Look at the facts. 9th last year in the prem. They're going to benefit from the hugely profitable promotion / relegation cycle. Norwich held firm and kept their gaffer, they know the score, they're going back for some more. But this type of owner is completely deluded imo. They're going down anyway, I can't think of anyone better to get them back.
Btw I'm not suggesting he should come here, I reckon he needs a long break.

Madness mate. Like Burnley did and like Norwich are about to. I am amazed they have not stuck with him. Over 45% win rate I am told.

Was just about to post about this - seems wrong somehow.
Did he jump or was he pushed?
The BBC is offering the following opinion:
"There have been major issues behind the scenes with Wilder and club owner Prince Abdullah. The owner felt he had provided funds for new players, including significant spending on strikers Rhian Brewster and Oli McBurnie, over the past two seasons with limited success.
However, Wilder felt this did not go far enough to strengthen his squad to the level required, which led to further tensions. When the club opted not to bring in new players in January, Wilder knew there was a major issue given the Blades' terrible start to the season."
Considering what he achieved over those 5 years at the Blades, he'll walk into another job no problem, possibly at a 'sleeping giant' or former Premier League club down on their luck.

silly to get rid! a bit of critisism for sheff utds playstyle must be said though, and wilder's failure to adapt. sheff utd play an extremely unique style of football that is both very hard to adhere too and also hard to replicate. wilder spent a few years building up that team, drilling the formation/tactics into his players and it relied heavily on the first 11 being fit. especially the CBS.
their CBs act as wingers at times and know when to get forward and what to do, when o'connel got injured it completely disrupted the entire team. wilder tried to sign replacements but it'd be like getting an electrician to do plumbing in that it wasn't going to work.
wilder didn't adapt and as a result the entire team wasn't able to play their way well enough to be competitive.

wilder didn't adapt and as a result the entire team wasn't able to play their way well enough to be competitive. It wasn't just that. Just as some sides have massively benefitted by no crowds (like WHU where the home crowd is very quick to voice displeasure) I reckon Blades suffered from no home support. I think Wilder did have a plan B, but once you've been found out at the top level you have very little time to put it right. Like everyone says, they're coming down anyway so sacking him now seems pointless.

The promised Blades press conference, re-arranged for 17:00 today, didn't happen due to "...circumstances beyond our [Sheff Utd's] control".
Has Gianni Paladini secretly taken over at Bramall Lane???

Hardly suprising when you think he spent best part of 60 million on McBurnie, Webster and Ramsdale. Like a lot of teams in that area of the table they have spent a lot of money are average players and average players will not keep you in the PL. Been a bit unlucky with injuries to his defence.

Shame it's not worked out for Luke Freeman there. You wouldn't have thought he'd be getting loaned back to the champs at his age.

Fair points, but its the timing. They're gone already. That lot plus the injured CBs should be enough to get them up again and you'd think Wilder would have been the man to do the job. Norwich didn't panic. Having said all that, it seems like the owner / manager relationship went toxic a while back and there's no return from that.

But did he mate? These days isn't it the clubs who bring players in? Wilder said on MOTD that he wasn't happy with some players in his squad. That was distancing himself if ever it was.

Already punching way above their weight and without Wilder they'll just be another average Championship side.

Already punching way above their weight and without Wilder they'll just be another average Championship side. idk tbh, FFP might be suspended next year and they have rich owners. even so they have players that either didn't light up the prem this season so i can't see their team being stripped apart. maybe basham, stevens and fleck will be snapped up but i can't see anyone else coming in for their bigger names like brewster and ramsdale who, in brewsters case, will probably tear the championship up next season

Don't Palace will go for Wilder. Eddie Howe much more their kind of man.
Mind you, with Woodgate stuttering at Bournemouth, what about a refreshed Howe back for a third stint at the Cherries next season???

Palace being rumoured. Can't believe Roy will carry on another season. I would happily ditch breadman now and go for wilder. Sadly though, i think he has proved his worth in the premiership. makes sense for a club like palace or even newcastle to go after him.

Howe would be a great fit at Palace. They have some good players and the owner backs the manager.
Can't see Howe in the championship anytime soon.
