Listening that interview I reckon all the loans are done. Can’t see why you would ask the question about keeping the squad together and putting pressure on board if they were not done or you had no intention of making effort to do them

Not a happy hunting ground but I fancy us the form we’re in same here, i remember 2-3 seasons ago when we finally beat them 1-0 thanks to a BFG goal. i also remember a few seasons ago when we lost away to them in the FA cup and a qpr fan had put 300 quid on forest to win so he could buy the following seasons ST lol

Can’t see why you would ask the question about keeping the squad together and putting pressure on board if they were not done or you had no intention of making effort to do them You reckon we'll get all of them permanently? I've heard a few whisperings that we are gonna chuck some money at it next season, so maybe you're right. I'm pretty certain Field is a done deal, ditto De Wijs and I'm sure Charlie will sign if we offer enough. Johansen is the one I can't see. Year left on 40 grand a week. Unless Fulham or the player are happy to take the hit, I don't see how we do that without badly disrupting the wage structure. Nobody at the club on anything like that. Highest earner is Cameron on 12 and a half apparently.

Think they will give it a go Tarbs of retaining them as we see their value. I just can’t see the sense of the clubs official interviewer loading the gun proclaiming importance of keeping the loans if there is no chance of doing it.

I've heard a few whisperings that we are gonna chuck some money at it next season I can't see why they shouldn't, as long as it's within the P&S rules. The alternative is just treading water every season which gets you nowhere. It comes down to the ambition of the owners and they have shown that with the new training ground purchase.

Highest earner is Cameron on 12 and a half apparently. if FFP is suspended, as has been heavily speculated, then maybe having a real go at it is a must. we have a great squad together and ideally only need a few more players + signing our loans to make a genuine challenge. i've been won over by wallaces performances since the start of the year and think he deserves a new deal despite his age but i do believe we need to bring in a new LB. a new RB wouldn't be amiss either but then what? surely the only thing this team is missing is a real goalscorer as chair, field and dickie will be much better next season after this seasons bedding in.

Wallace has been good Corbs. Eating a bit of humble pie after writing him off a few months back.
What I will say though is I'm always a bit suspicious of players that play their best football in the last few months of their deal. I'd give him another year but also probably look for another left back too. Niko hasn't kicked on and I don't fancy Wallace to keep fit the whole season.

Wallace age, your one injury away from missing most of a season. Same in life, older u are more susceptible to things.

We're saying the exact same things now about Wallace as we were about Clint Hill a few years ago, and yet he kept proving the doubters wrong every season.
Is he worth another year? Undoubtedly yes.
Is he keeping Niko out of the side? Absolutely no contest.
Do we need a backup WB? Probably.

This summer will definitely be a test of ambition Stan, having an option on loans means nothing if our best offer isn't acceptable. All very well saying things fans want to hear but Field is young so won't be cheap, Johansen is class and still has a lot to offer so won't be cheap and is Charlie going to accept a big drop in income at a time when a player is looking for his last big pay day? De Wijs will probably be here as we have to replace Cameron if we keep playing a three.

having an option on loans means nothing if our best offer isn't acceptable I thought the general idea in these deals, is that the clubs negotiate the loan deal with the optional transfer fee already settled? Makes no sense, if his value increases the better he performs for us, and they can move the goalposts on a possible deal.

That’s the generally accepted format for loans with a pre negotiated transfer fee.

That will show the ambition they currently lack. They are not going to get their money back flirting with relegation every season - with the inevitable outcome.

Hang on, I'm being realistic saying I'm not convinced we will keep expensive loans😁 But don't forget it has been said on here that if we had started the season with players like them we would be up there with a chance of getting in the money again so...?
