It’s a lovely sunny day, your team has won away from home, you’ve moved up to 10th place in the league, life is good. So I just thought I’d pop in with a drive-by thread, posing the question. Charlie’s suspension will be over, the team looks better playing 3-4-2-1, with Willock and Chair behind 1 centre forward. So who would you start, Dykes or Austin, 😈

Both. Personally think Chaz is invaluable and if that one chance pops up, despite Lyndon hitting some form and clearly being a capable player I know who my money would be on. I’d be sounding Chaz out about a contract with a view to coach when he knocks it on the head, he clearly loves it here and feels wanted as does his family. He’s brought the standard up in my opinion which I wasn’t really expecting. Happy wife, happy life. He will sign up providing we don’t take the piss

Having said that I’ve been really impressed with dykes these last few weeks. He certainly seems to have the mojo back. My main big Bare with him earlier in the season was he seemed to lack that killer instinct and not put in the same sort of shift he did for Scotland. He seems up to speed now and is the player we thought we were getting. Needs to lose the soft touch and be more selfish but there’s a player there

Who would you play there?

I know you’re an animal lover, I’m sure I read about the joy reading “Black Beauty” gave you as a youngster in a thread on here.

The silence is deafening. Deep down you all know on present form there’s only 1 choice

I suggested player coach role as a way of affording him. If he wants to stay in game it’s win win.

Let’s enjoy Dykes’ run of form but let’s not get too carried away as the change is inexplicable so could easy see another 30 game barren run. He’s scored a couple of cracking goals recently so if that was in him why look such a donkey before? He didn’t look unlucky, he looked awful. Possibly the biggest mystery I’ve seen at this club.

My point exactly. Sometimes it doesn’t drop for you but that wasn’t the case with him. He’s had at least 4 or 5 chances that I’d expect any player worth their salt at this level to put away. As you say let’s enjoy the upturn in form and I very much hope it’s a case of form is temporary class is permanent. As soon as Chaz arrived you could see the difference even in just the position they would get into. Let’s put it down to a massive step up in standard and hope he keeps banging them in.

We’re better with two up so both as Dykes has improved since playing with Austin. Knowing MW it will be one of them for 65 then the other.
