Not saying this is definitely the reason, but I know from my own experience that "recovered" doesn't necessarily mean as good as you were before. Quite a lot of other people that were sick with it early doors are saying the same. |

Just listened to “that podcast” which consists entirely of an interview with Nedum.
Some very interesting stories and shocked at the reason he chose to leave.
Rare to hear such an articulate and thoroughly decent footballer.

He spoke very well and more importantly was very honest. The sort of bloke any football club would want and think he has a place in the game in the future. Think he would be an ideal sporting director/D.O.F somewhere

As for the honesty aspect, this is so often the way once a player has retired with the desire to spill the beans on stuff that they could never do as a player under contract. Paddy Kenny's memoirs being a very recent example, (SWP's revelations are intriguing too). It's always interesting when the real truth comes out years later and records are finally set straight; and there's obviously a good market for it. Nedum has only just announced his retirement and was understandably happy to get a few things off his chest. |
