Amos has to start at the weekend. Ball has been poor of late and Johansen seems to be struggling for form a bit too, perhaps he's carrying a knock. From the few minutes he's had since returning from injury, Amos looks our form player in the middle.

Amos and Johansen looks a decent pairing. Or field with one of them too

Amos and Johansen looks a decent pairing. And Dozzell and Ball definitely does not. Warburton please never pair those two again. Midfield is totally ineffective with them.

Missed Johansen, highlighted when Amos came on and passed ball forward.

Those 2 are bench fodder when everyone is fit. Ball has his moments, but essentially isn't quite good enough. Dozzell I genuinely can't work out.

Gotta be Stefan and Amos Al. I know Warbs is stubborn, but it's so bloody obvious!

He looks more or less match fit Stan. Maybe more easing him back in from a mental perspective. Must be quite a big obstacle to overcome knowing you've blown out both knees at 24 years of age. A 3rd one would be tough to come back from.
Amos probably needs to do what Alle did and adapt his game a little bit. Cracking player at this level in my opinion, so I'm sure he'll work it out.

I feared the worst for Amos when he came on with Rothwell(weil) and Bradley Johnson on the pitch. Wonder how he might have felt?

Amos looks better than I remember. The match when he inured his knee a year ago was very close to the best match he played for us,imo.

I totally agree and it's a valid point. Considering what he's been through they're being very careful about rushing him back too fast, so no doubt they're absolutely taking the correct approach, and fair play to Warbs for that. We (fans) do need to be patient which can be hard when it's so clear to see his talent and the transformation his introduction had on tonight's game.

What a difference 3 points makes. We’d all be moaning (rightly) about that performance.

Think what we see with Amos compared to likes of Ball is he’s an intelligent player. He plays with his head up sees the picture and is thinking of the next pass before he’s played the first one
Was amazed watching yesterday how often Ball and Dozell took the ball with their backs to opposition goal so really the only pass is backwards where it came. Rarely did they take ball on half turn which opens up the pitch

Rarely did they take ball on half turn which opens up the pitch And worse still, as said during the match, neither made runs to create space to try to draw oppo out of shape. Therefore no surprise to see our defenders constantly passing it across the backline, until eventually MW makes a change on 60 minutes. And bingo, the moment he makes that change we all of a sudden look a threat and score a goal.

dozzell looks like he actually has some talent tbh. good positioning, solid on the ball and good at passing but he plays so negatively. i'd love to see him linking up with chair and willock as i think he could really step it up a gear.
ball is just ball ... helpful player at times but a weak leak

Didn't it take us 21 games to get to 20 points last season, and we did that on New Years Eve? So way ahead of last season. Not sure our second half of the season will match last year though, but if it does we will be in a good place.

Ball and Dozzell played the way they were facing but Johansen is the outlet for the back three as he’s usually on the turn.

Completely agree with comments on Amos. But given his long term injury history, I’d be cautious to be starting him too often until new year. Give him some starts but lots of sub appearances.

Sadly correct which is why I posted Ball plays Saturday - plus it’s away. Not sure that should make a difference but it does.
