Not very encouraging about LC. Club and HF seem miles apart. He says club want to rebuild relationship with council. They’d need to do that even if they just want to rebuild parts of LR. I can’t see council being in favour of a multi-use stadium hemmed in on all sides by housing. how could we satisfy modern criteria around access, dispersal, nuisance etc.

LC stadium only has housing Du Cane road and it’s just fiats so personally can’t see that being significant issue
Would argue Westfield which is now surrounded by housing is more disruptive on a weekend in the area then a stadium once a week on what is effect wasteland
As Alan says beef between two parties are main issue here and will make or break any future plans

I meant LR being hemmed in so not ideal to make a multi- purpose venue.

Thanks for posting West. Comes across like a decent sort and answered the questions with a straight bat. I'd say the club is in safe hands with him and Amit, now that Fernandes has taken more of a back seat.

Maybe heartless and way off the mark, but do you think Tony stepping down is because Ruben is set to inherit his father's wealth?
On his own, Ruben isn't that rich but with his Dad's wealth (presumably) going to him, he's now a billionaire so can afford to run the club without Tony.

Sponge, Ruben has been steadily increasing his shareholding for years now. The debts that were converted to shares on various occasions in recent years have served to increase Ruben's shareholding as the bulk of the debts were owed to him. The Mittal's shareholding has been eroded to close to nothing.
The new American chap is an interesting dynamic but it's been clear to me for a while the Ruben is the guy calling the shots in the boardroom.

Steadily as he didn't have the funds to buy outright, potentially. I'm sure we'll hear soon who took the shares. I did wonder how he could afford to write off so much as his wealth isn't that wealthy (as a club owner). His Dad's wealth though, is football club rich. I find it interesting that he has said about upgrading Loftus Road and now Hoos has been saying the same thing. Need a lot of money to do that.

I like it when Ruben talks, makes sense. If he walks the walk we could be on the up. Got to get through this season safely.
