Didn't deserve to lose. Penalty, 17 corners, plenty of chances.

Next time we win a few on the bounce can we stop any ridiculous talk of chasing down the top two.

Poor all round effort from most concerned. Having said that, Austin only had to score that fucking penalty, and we would have grown in confidence, and won the game IMO. Goal scoring record had to stop at some point though, and we are still in the playoffs.

Didn't deserve to lose. Penalty, 17 corners, plenty of chances. Yes, but we lacked end product, so it really counts for nothing.

Didn't deserve to lose. Penalty, 17 corners, plenty of chances. We probably didn’t deserve to lose but being at home and going down 1-0 early, you will more often than not be attacking more. The penalty would have things for certain but they had good chances to make it 2-0 before they did. Dozzell made a couple of bad mistakes and it cost us. But more importantly we need to have our wing backs fit. We’re not a playoff team with those 2 out wide. It forces us narrow because they don’t have quality out wide.

Our most dangerous players were Amos and Thomas......

Didn't deserve to lose. Penalty, 17 corners, plenty of chances. but if you don’t put away a header that a schoolboy would score and screw up a penalty like that do you deserve to win? Only Willock turned up today, Amos made a difference and Georginho gave it a go.

Mental team selection Kakay and Field as wing backs
Should be Austin and Gray upfront at home
GRAY DESERVED TO START
Poor day from Warbs in my opinion

Totally shit performance. Only player for me who I can’t really say was awful was Field.
Austin love the man but it’s like flogging a dead horse. He should never have started this game. Use him as a super sub for 20 mins for his experience and nouse.
Johansen, Chair, Dozzell, Kaykay all shit today.
Plenty of chances to score but a good GK and piss poor finishing summed jr up. Don’t let me start on the penalty. It killed about 30 worms on the way to the goal. Woeful.

very poor today, not abysmal but should have done better. kakay simply shouldn't start, my god he's awful and would struggle to get into any championship and most league 1 sides.
we were set up completely wrong which is infuriating given that on thursday warbs said that we need to have a plan B when 3 at the back isn't working/possible. we're a team that needs confident WB's that work hard and can link up well whilst also putting crosses in, field's not a WB and kakay's not a footballer.
but all that being said stoke played very well today. i'm not as pissed off as when we lost to bristol simply because stoke fully deserved their win, they were very well set up, defended superbly and attacked with ease. not to mention adam davies also becoming prime buffon for one game lol. spectacular from him.
onwards and upwards!

I have no idea what I missed watching Field, but to me he was bang average at best. Not impressed at all. Thomas did ok when he came on as did Amos, other than that I cant pick out a great performance. Johansen was awful today too.

Some harsh reviews. Both Field and Kakay did OK today. Let's be honest, Charlie does his job and scores that pen and we would probably have walked away with at least a point.

Kakay was having a decent match in my opinion. At least a few of his crosses hit a fellow ranger. Stefan J. had an off day..

don't think field did anything wrong either, he's not a LWB so can't be judged for not standing out there.
i must have missed kakay's good stuff, he put in one cross and attempted one or 2 take ons IRC but for the most part, no scrap that, he never makes a forward run and 90% of his passes are backwards or to stefan who spent most of the second half babysitting kakay. ozzie just doesn't fill me with any confidence when he has the ball, surely i'm not the only one that feels nervous everytime he's closed down or tries to join a triangle?
thomas is my MOTM just because he gave the side a lift when he came on, had a few good chances and simply stood out more than anyone else.
i'm not giving a damning assessment of the team (except kakay) as for the most part i thought we were average today and set up wrong given our injuries. an average performance doesn't cut it in the hunt for a playoff spot however and stoke got the memo so brought their A game to us tonight. can't be too mad at the team as i do agree that had austin scored it could have been a different game as we were starting to get our groove on prior to his miss. just one of those games were the better team won with one of the best GK performances i've seen from an away keeper in a while.

Luckily not a disaster as far as the table is concerned. Got to hang in there and see where it gets us. A point at Sheffield would be fine.

He's playing our system, just didn't have the personnel today. Not sure I can blame him. Did Klopp change his system when he had all his key players injured? No. In fairness, their injuries were at CB so you can't change that too much! My assessment is basically the same as everyone else. The problem with playing a 352 (or a variation of having wing backs) is that they are meant to be your outlet. They are meant to keep the width and bomb on past the ball. With Field and Kakay, they aren't those sorts of players. Field is defensive and Kakay is a CB (I think?!). It's never going to work like that. Means Chair, Willock don't have forward runners which in turn makes them turn back. You lose the threat in behind. Warbs said in the fans forum that you have to adapt your formation if you don't have the players but he didn't do so here, and that's a shame. I guess he thought we didn't have the players for a 433 either? Could have gone something like Kakay Dunne Dickie Barbet Field Dozzell Johansen Chair Austin Willock If he wanted to get Field in the team and keep Austin up top. Seems more balanced, if not a bit defensive (my team is based on using all of the original 11)

When we cant play system A due to lack of personell in crucial positions, we surely have to go for a system B, don`t we? 4-3-3. What about that formation?
