I have no idea what I missed watching Field, but to me he was bang average at best. Not impressed at all. Thomas did ok when he came on as did Amos, other than that I cant pick out a great performance. Johansen was awful today too. agree re field , and I just don't see ehyfsns rave about Johansen |

The team at Derby would have got three points out of that. Tell you what though, I don’t get all this 4 at the back with Barbet as a left back. Left WB maybe but he’s an awful LB and we have settled on a 3 at the back system - don’t change too much. If we have the same selection problems next Monday I’d be tempted to play Ball in back three (he started life as a CB at Spurs) and Barbet LWB - keep our favoured system. Maybe Field instead of Ball but coming back from long term injury that might be a risk to him. |

I don't really rate Barbet as a wing back myself Alan. He doesn't get up and down the line enough. Personally I don't think we should be persevering with a 3-5-2 unless we have the right personell to do it properly. A 4-4-2 is far easier to hash together if you are down to the bare bones.

I don't really rate Barbet as a wing back myself Alan. He doesn't get up and down the line enough. Personally I don't think we should be persevering with a 3-5-2 unless we have the right personell to do it properly. A 4-4-2 is far easier to hash together if you are down to the bare bones. exactly this, barbet can do a job at LB but only out of neccesity because he's never injured. would prefer dickie at RB in a pinch over kakay as even though dickie's slower he can make up for it by simply not being kakay. or even amos at RB just because he has energy and works hard. i think that with our injuries we should be setting up in a 4231 or 433 and try and be more defensively sound. |

It’s clear how erratic ball is in CM imagine him CB! disaster waiting to happen. He might have started career as CB but he’s no CB from what I’ve observed. Strikes me as very similar to Eric Dier at spurs who is massively out of his depth in defence |

Fair point Westy. Issue is we are gonna need to play someone out of position somewhere, with both our left backs on the treatment table.
What's going on now is exactly why I probably wouldn't have renewed Wallace. Good player, but he misses significantly more games than he's fit for. Isn't gonna work in the Championship if he's 1 of our 2 options there, especially when the other is also a sicknote.
For me, the obvious solution is to revert to 4 at the back with Barbet at left back. Isn't ideal, but the best option we have at present.

But why make something unstable in two positions moving people about when you only need fix one problem? makes no sense
Field I thought done a bloody good job on Sunday so why the clamour to change it. I think he can slot in there based on Sundays showing until Wallace/Moses is back which should be very soon based on managers comments
