Kakay starts for the third consecutive game, alongside Stephen Caulker, against Equatorial Guinea.
If they win, they'll qualify for the knockout stage - otherwise Osman will be on his way home.
As for AFCON being a 'shitty thing', well, it's the African continent's equivalent of the Euros. Some great football on show, I don't find it shitty in the slightest.

Agreed, it's great. If only it wasn't played mid-season, like the other international tournaments are - so that our players don't risk injury as well as missing an entire month of the season.
That's the REAL gripe.

They wavt make WC every two years you think doing that do regularly it’s going be in the summer each time. No chance. Money talks AFCON is not a secret clubs sign players knowing tournament is mid season. If clubs don’t want be effected don’t sign African players is my personal view point

As for AFCON being a 'shitty thing', well, it's the African continent's equivalent of the Euros. Some great football on show, I don't find it shitty in the slightest. I've watched a fair bit of it and there has been some good football on display. There has also been some utter garbage, but when you look at the calibre of some of the smaller nations, that's not surprising. Gotta be said though, the standard of refereeing has been farcical at times, and the stadiums are more often than not empty. It does have the feel of something far more budget than the Euros or World Cup. I understand why players want to play in it, but I think it's a joke that its every 2 years and mid season. As for Westy's point about not signing African players if you don't want to be affected by it. Who's that helping? Surely we want African players in the European leagues? Ian Wright will be calling clubs out right, left and centre for thinly veiled racism or whatever if players were being overlooked by big clubs cos they wanted to play for their nation in AFCON. I honestly think the solution is to play it every 4 years like every other major international tournament.

Agree, every 4 years is plenty for international tournaments.

Very sad to hear about the terrible loss of life with 8 fans killed at the Cameroon match.
Sounds like there could almost have been a similar situation at the Leeds Newcastle game - ground management and stewards getting complacent...
But football goes on, with Senny and Illy both in action today (well, probably both on the bench).
Wonder how they're feeling about our results without them - and perhaps Seny potentially losing his place to Marshall...

Gotta be said, I won't have much sympathy for Seny if he does lose his place. His form has been a little up and down this season. If he choses to warm the bench for his country (and not even his country of birth or origin I'll add), over a promotion push with us then that's his call. He can have no complaints a.) that we've signed another keeper in his absence, or b.) if the manager fancies Marshall more based on form.

Dire game of football yesterday evening. Hoping Senegal win the final. They've been far better than Egypt over the course of the tournament.
