Tend to agree Al. I suppose you could argue he's an improvement on what we have. May also be a straight replacement for Dom Ball who we've apparently been trying to shift on. Doesn't seem to make much sense though. Central Midfield is an area we seem quite well stocked.

hendrick has been newcastle's worst player over the past 2 years which is honestly amazing given how awful they've been.
i imagine we'll be covering most of his wages too. pointless signing as we already have an abundance of midfielders and hendrick isn't even good enough cover for chair and willock imo. comes across as largely a panic signing after paterson's deal collapsed.
i hope i'm utterly wrong of course.

Mixed reports on Hendricks here I must say. If he comes in, it will allow us to push players like Amos and Stefen further up.

Bit of a meh signing to me. Thought we needed another attacking option off the bench instead we have picked up an older, more experienced Sam Field.

Not overly keen on Hendrick should he join but overall pleased with Marshall and the lad from Wolves. Keep playing as we have since the Bournemouth game and we will be fine. No one to fear with the squad we have.

At least we don’t appear to have sold anyone. Can’t understand why we’ve added a very average midfielder to the wage bill.

Probably not too bad to get another experienced player for our midfield to rotate with Stef and Sam. Definitely an upgrade on the Dominator imo. Would have liked another attacking option as well, but it is what it is. Let's go and win this league now 🤠

Facking horrible player to watch. Shyte for Ireland and has done nothing for Newcastle. With Amos who can play a forward role like he has in the past two games, then we have chair, why make this pointless signing. We were doing so well signing the wolves lad and Marshall, then warbs. Pulls this turd out. What we really needed was a striker ffs. Anyway, this signing spells the end for georginho.

Think it's a sensible one, but I think it does get rid if the myth that we are a young team. He's a holding player with experience so he'll be a good back up for Field. Dozzell, Amos, Johansen aren't players that just sit. And he's a huge upgrade on Ball. Whilst I don't think its a weak position that we have positioned, it does add more quality to the team.

Probably just a case of adding some experience and an extra set of legs without breaking the bank. It's pretty clear we were priced out of our top 3 or 4 targets.
As was mentioned on another thread last night, maybe this gives Amos a bit more license to get forward. That can only be a good thing. He's looking excellent going forward in the last few games.

Here’s a thought then, if he’s on loan and we don’t go up we’ll keep him ☹️

I personally have never rated Hendrick and cannot see where he gets in our team right now. Hopefully it works out for us but would question do we really need him?

Here’s a thought then, if he’s on loan and we don’t go up we’ll keep him ☹️ mate, i don't think the question is about whether we'll make the playoffs. its about whether we can survive. i wouldn't be surprised to see bookies giving us 3000/1 odds to make the playoffs after hendrick's signing
