"Danny Simpson looks likely that he will be leaving Leicester City upon the expiration of his contract at the end of the season. The 32-year-old would be a useful signing for a number of clubs, and it remains to be seen as to where Simpson’s next move will be if he is to leave the Foxes. One set of supporters that are seemingly keen to see him join their club again is QPR supporters. We asked them on Twitter, whether they would want to re-sign Simpson in the summer if his contract isn’t to be renewed. See the best of the reaction from Twitter below…" footballleagueworld.co.uk/definitely-in-a-heartbeat-plenty-of-qpr-fans-keen-to-see-32-y-o-return-to-loftus-road-in-the-summer/

I agree, if he has another year or two left in him. Simmo slightly younger.

Personally I'd never pick Rangel over Simpson. I think Rangel is close to done at this level. If we do give him another year I suspect we'd only be hoping for him to be available for around 50% of the games, as has been the case this season. Simpson on the other hand is 5 years younger and (until this season), has had quite a good record with injuries. I think he played virtually every game for the 1 season he was with us. When you are operating on a very tight budget, players who spend too much time on the injury table are not what you need!

We can’t afford Simpson we can Rangel. On that basis there is not actually choice to make

If there is any chance we can afford him I'd have him in a skinny.

I suppose most of it will be taken care of by the various high earners (Bidwell and Pav mainly) dropping off the wage bill, and those expensive loans coming to end. We need a much better plan in the transfer market this summer though. There will be plenty of gaps to fill in the squad.

I’m not sure mate let’s not forget he was club less for first two months of season so was not in a position to demand high wage so if he’s managed to get one out of us when we held the cards we might as well pack it in

I'd have Simpson back in a heartbeat but we can't afford his wages. He'll end up at somewhere like Bournemouth or Brighton (if they stay up).

Just heard on the radio that Danny Simpson is a free agent. 34 now, training with Leicester. Apart from his career record, he is credited with helping to develop Ben Chillwell's.
I can't really think of better cover for that area of the park, and he wants to get involved in defence coaching (which he does with Leicester U23s).
As of today, there are 800 of 'em on the frees list.
