That's actually not the case Gen. Houston was manager and Rioch was his assistant. I remember being extremely underwhelmed and baffled by this appointment at the time, as Houston had been Rioch's assistant at Arsenal. Do you remember the relief when they were sacked and we sang "we're not Arsenal anymore"? Hollins came in as caretaker, and... well, you know the rest.... a shed load of uninspiring managers came and went, starting with the dire Ray Harford - Olly was the exception, until Magilton and De Canio, who were the stand-outs IMO until Colin arrived and took us back to the promised land.
Those days in the loft were my best days though good times. 1996 - Bardsley / Sommer / Brevett / Impey / Maddix / Mc Donald / Sinclair / Barker / Spencer / Peacock / Dichio / Gallen You was tooooo old to join us toot in paddock and then Ellerslie dodging dibble

Was always in the south paddock mate , best day in their was when Andy Sinton scored a hat rick against Tottenham and we beat them 4-1
Was a sunny day and it kicked off afterwards too
Also beating palace on the last day of the season when the horses came onto the pitch that was also mental.

Yeah, used to love the paddocks when it was terraced. Always a great atmosphere.

Some proper heros in that team Maddix / Mc Donald / Impey / Bardsley / Gallen Proper Qpr till i die players Totally agree, but the game is completely different these days. Would be interesting to see how they would have coped under today's massively intrusive and often objectionable, offensive and hateful social media - and whether 'fans' would have been on their backs if they had a couple of bad games...

He used to drive me nuts. And Roberts wasn't much better!
