We'll be playing Hampton & Richmond in a couple of years. Nice and local.

This is why I think we still have chance of staying up. The improvement is vast Can't share your optimism Westy as I have been resigned to relegation for the last couple of weeks BUT I do agree Marti has improved us massively - we were just SO poor before that he can't improve us quite enough. Defensively as your stats show we are night and day. We are also now creating chances which had seemed beyond us. I'm just not sure you can coach goalscoring though and we don't have an instinctive goalscorer in the squad (we hear about Kelman but he's weak as piss). In theory you create more chances, your XG goes up and then so do your goals. So he and his backroom team are doing all the right things but they must be absolutely tearing their hair out that we are not getting the reward. Whatever happens I hope the fans stay behind Marti because he is one of the few green shoots of recovery this bleak mid-winter.

I need Marty to tell us what we already know. The squad is shit and we can't score in a brothel.

Just shows you how too much emphasis is put on defending given our circumstances!

Reflects really well on Marti's influence, but re. the tweet: it's fewer goals, not less goals!

Under AInsworth was genuinely as bad as it has been for me as a fan tbh, only time I have genuinely not wanted to even go to games.

Meaningless (but quite encouraging) stat. I was looking at the full league table on the BBC web site. There are only four teams who haven't lost a game in the last four. Leicester (1st place) Southampton (2nd) Leeds (3rd) QPR (22nd)

Just read that in Marti’s 20 games in charge we’ve managed 7 clean sheets. In 40 games under Critchley and GA we managed 6.

Its 56 goals from set pieces!

Which considering our problem at set pieces is pretty amazing. We seem to have improved in recent weeks with corners as we went through a scary period with those. The next thing I hope we can work on defensively is to avoid conceding cheap free kicks just outside the area. We've done this quite a bit lately and against better opposition that will get punished. But overall this is a great improvement, particularly when you consider we are attacking more as well (maybe these two facts are actually related)
