why is it literally every table of all-time league-wide shitness/ wankness we always make at least the top three?

thefishy.co.uk/formtable.php?table=2&tab=tab-last10So we remain 8th in the 6 game form table - what has improved is our 10 game form table, where we are up to 11th - showing our recovery has been underway for a while now. One concern is Sheffield Wed and Huddersfield are right up there with us in the form tables so all three of us are giving it a right good go. I’ve thought for a while that Huddersfield will be safe but increasingly we can’t write off Sheff Wed either. We need Stoke to carry on losing and probably one other - Millwall prob the next most vulnerable.

Marti has 7 wins in 20 league games. 35% win record And overall, 27 points from 20 games. 1.35 points per game. If you’re expanded that, we’d be 10th……

Only qualification is that has probably included a disproportionate number of matches against lower half sides. The challenge will be to maintain that over March fixtures against supposedly better sides.

That is an absolutely unbelievable turnaround considering under boots we didn’t have a shot on goal in three games at one point.

I hate to say it but, I think our biggest battle will be holding onto this manager, the way he’s going.

Love him Jimmy. How refreshing is it to have a proepr analytical manager.
The stat you've posted above about where we'd be had the seaosn started when he took over is incredible really considering the state of the club / squad he adopted. I know it's a big if, but if we do stay up this year, genuinely quite excited to see what Marti can do with a full summer under his belt to prepare.

Given time & to have a proper preseason, a few quid, change some personnel, I can only see this manager taking us places we can’t even imagine right now as you rightly said the state of the club and what we thought was a piss, poor squad. he is squeezing every last drop out of these players. Brilliant.

If he and us are going have fair chance next season still need an effective striker.

When you see stats like this are we correct to call them bottle jobs?

When you see stats like this are we correct to call them bottle jobs? No it's not. I've always thought it was down to poor management mainly (under Ainsworth in particular).

think its just the nature of being a football fan lol. we're all hypocrites with short memories. 2 weeks ago we were doomed to relegation and now things are looking much brighter.
its been an interesting season so far at least and we certainly don't look like a relegation side under marti. can't remember where i saw it (may have been this forum) but based on marti's PPG we'd be in 11th across an entire season.
really hope we stay up, keep the band mostly together and bring in some additional faces as i genuinely believe next season would be a good one.

I love illy but to put that in context - Chairs 5 goals and 6 assists have come in 32 starts and 1 sub appearance (2849 mins). Willocks 4 goals and 3 assists have come from 19 starts and 9 sub appearances (1567 mins).

But Willock wasn't selected quite often because he didn't seem to have his heart in it....
Both are crucial for us.
What is nice is other players starting to make a significant contribution on that list

Fair play muscles never realised he had three assists. Can think of the one at Blackburn can’t recall the others but that’s decent enough when you compare that to who we class as our game changers.

Good point, muscles has scored 3 goals and 3 assists in 18 starts (11 subs) (1559 mins and didn’t include the fa cup goal.)

I hate the assist stat. What about what leads up to the final pass? There could have been a fantastic team move then a simple final ball and that’s the assist. Chair was all over the pitch yesterday, by far the most active of our players - what’s that if it’s not assisting?

I think we can all agree that when on their game, Chair and Willock are top class and definitely good enough for a team vying for promotion.
