There is one thing in my mind which makes me think the trip to Rangers was not planned to sort out a job as if that was what the trip was about why would beale go all in talking about turning wolves down due to integrity etc you would not do that you would simply say wolves job not for me I’m staying put.
The speech he gave was all for the benefit of the fans, some fell for it, and part of his wider game plan. Can imagine he never thought opportunity would come round so quick so the smoke screen quickly disappeared and he’s been exposed for the fraud and bull shitter he truly always has been.

Whoever constructed the contract obviously didn't follow due dilligence.
Having said that they obviously were blown away by this smooth talking cunt and the rest is history.
It's not worth playing the blame game,we are better off without him imo.

Sparks, nobody would realistically pay much more than the 1.5m release clause we currently have for Beale. I believe the reason for the hold-up is because Rangers have been trying to negotiate it down. With this in mind, Westy is 100% correct. Beale just wouldn't have signed a contract with a large release clause like you are suggesting. Then why have we reportedly tried to re-negotiate Beale and his coaching staff contracts recently. If Beale hadn’t made his loyalty quotes and gone to perhaps a more stable club in England I’m of the opinion he would be a success, Jimmy Dunne and umpteen players under him have said he is a genius. It was his first gig, I think it’s reasonable to suggest he would have signed that type of clause. |

Last time I saw defence like this it was Pinkie on the old board of holloway 😁

I listened to Sean Dyche the other who said he never went to games at Villa, Leicester and Forest as the managers were under the cosh and it would look like he was circling for their job. Beale went up to the game when the feeling was if GVB lost he was out the door. |

I posted a few days ago that its been pretty clear for a while what kind of man Mick Beale is. Going to be a struggle to get our season back on track now and whoever replaces him will most likely face a pretty despondent squad, betrayed by their manager and on a losing run. Might well impact the board's thinking and whereas they might have been planning to twist in Jan to get promotion, arguably they will now think they might as well cash in on star players if we get good offers in Jan. The board get stick but I feel for them in this situation - by appointing Beale etc they were going about it in a text book way.
Hope now as a club and a fanbase we move on quickly and forget about the snake. The board should move fast to appoint a new manager who will hopefully get some time with the players before the season kicks off again.

Haven't read back through all the posts but my view is quite simply, fark him - snake.
Appreciate Rangers is a huge role, but that really aint the point. After his 'loyalty & integrity' speech only a matter of weeks ago when rejecting Wolves, he looks a complete pr1ck but jumping into bed with the next attractive opportunity that's fluttered their eyelashes at him.
Decent, promising coach, but no more. He isn't Pep Guardiola ffs, let him go & we move on. C-unt move by Beale IMHO.
I see that Critchley linked and, tbh, whilst not overly glamorous, I think he could be quite a savvy appointment. Just want somebody appointed ASAP so they have a little bit of time to get settled before the season kick off again.

But it would be a fair assumption that that point would have been further into the future, not after a couple of months. If he lived up to the hype surrounding him we could have been in a much better place, possibly promoted. So employing him to get us to that point even if he did then leave would have been a master stroke. Nobody could have seen this coming 4 months ago, are you seriously suggesting the board should have? I still don’t get this blame Les mentality. Because Beale may have said he would need to look at an offer from Rangers if it ever materialised, whereas another manager wouldn’t openly admit it, that doesn’t make Beal less committed to us than another manager, it simply means another manager was prepared to be more dishonest at the interview stage. At the end of the day, whatever one manager says at an interview compared to another, they’re both as likely to fuck off when it suits them. So why not offer to the one you think could do the best job? |
