Really like this appointment. Obviously thought about, patient and targeted specifically. I know it’s trendy to Cunt the board off but I like the way they’ve gone about it. Again.

'Interesting and bold' - yes, have to agree. I know bugger all about him, but of all the names being bandied about over the last few weeks, Beale is the one who (in my ignorance!) This is only his first managerial job, but I'm open minded and even slightly positive. That said my expectations aren't very high but let's give him a proper chance and hope for the best.

A few thoughts/questions to throw out:
1. Was he the club's first choice and if not, how far down the list was he?
2. In hindsight, would the club have stuck with the more experienced Warburton, knowing Beale was going to be who we ended up with?
3. Quite a leftfield appointment but good luck to him anyway!

It’s a gamble. everyone starts somewhere. look at corberon at huddersfield, aside from some very short stints at proper "meh" clubs, he was bielsa's assistant. personally i don't have an issue with hiring a manager without experience as long as they've done coaching already. beale will come here with the hunger to succeed and from browsing villa's forum beale favours a style of play similar to ours. its a risk for sure but the same could be said about any appointment |
