I’d be more inclined to agree if it was an inspired appointment not a desperate one. If he was the target he’d have been here when Warburton went.

Not sure I agree. Beale under contract with games against Liverpool at the end. Gerard didn’t want to lose him. Having watched videos on and from Beale he seems to fit a lot of the clubs criteria and has a fresh approach to coaching.

A few thoughts/questions to throw out: 1. Was he the club's first choice and if not, how far down the list was he? 2. In hindsight, would the club have stuck with the more experienced Warburton, knowing Beale was going to be who we ended up with? 3. Quite a leftfield appointment but good luck to him anyway! 1 No 2 I doubt it (Ferdinand). 3 Yes

I don’t really see it would have been a huge benefit to bring in Beale earlier, makes financial sense not to be paying 2 managerial salaries before appointing the new man.
It’s obvious that he’s an inexperienced manager but the plus points far outweigh the fears of him being a failure when considering the realistic options open to the club.

Think i need to adjust my ambition as we will probably never be a top seven or eight premier league club again in my lifetime. The best we can hope for is a top six championship club going forward of which i do not think we will get next season now either. Glad i was able to see Qpr as they were though a club on par with Tottenham / West Ham / Arsenal and Chelsea at one point for 10 years in 1980 s As some supporters will never see this again possibly and ever know how it feels to go to these clubs and beat them. We will probably never reach these heights again i feel with the current owners and dof as they are happy being a very average football club.
I always thought that we could be a top club again up to this year but its just a pipe dream that will never happen. We will be a championship club with good values politically correct but with no silverware in the cupboard most fans are happy with this now it seems This is the future of Qpr.

The General is currently in mourning for the reasons he has stated.
I think this is understandable and we should allow him this time to grieve.

Isn’t there less need for a man-manager these days anyway?
So a coach is all you need, as there’s less characters in the game, with most modern day footballers being more compliant and biddable.
Or am I just clutching at straws?

Just out of interest the plus points are ? All his appointments have been at big successful clubs so has a winning mentality. Previous connections at other clubs could work in our favour regarding loans and also other clubs due to his reputation. Beale fits the club profile regarding improving our youngsters. Players and managers publicly praising his coaching methods. Listening to his videos his approach to formations are flexible to suit the players at his disposal. Hes young and obviously ambitious to progress. His interviews are not full of cliches.

To appoint a manager who has never been a manager is a big risk especially for my football team who are already very average

This appointment will either be amazing or atrocious we will know in a month time
Like the idea of high tempo / high press football though not denying this
