Can’t believe some of our fans wanted him back here in a coaching role. Essentially putting a bully in charge of a load of kids and expecting said kids to have the confidence to try and express themselves on the pitch whilst that scum bag is breathing down their necks.

I think he actually did a half decent job at Fleetwood. Problem is he's always only a few minutes away from losing his head and doing something horrible. Not my cup of tea either Greg. I just don't like the way we are always quick to judge a case based on individuals trackrecord. And yes Joey has done his fair share of despicable things, and may well be guilty here, but before we know the ins and outs, we really don't know what is what, IMO.

Overall Joey did a decent job in an Rs shirt and for me that's what matters.

Listened to podcast between nedum and Micah Richards earlier and ned said, without naming Barton but making very clear it was him he was referring, that he used to pull little stunts on pitch to get his stats up on ground covered to make it look like he was working harder then he was. And as soon as he said it a light went off in my head of how he used to take corners and I thought your spot on ned

All u have to do is keep passing backwards and sideways. Because if u try a thru ball and it gets intercepted that won't show up , stats don't win games . Maybe that thru ball that splits the defence does

The problems in the dressing room were largely a result of the other mercenaries recruited at the time, all of whom contributed less on the park than Barton. If you're looking for someone to blame you need to look hard at who was responsible for recruitment on and off the park at during that period. Harry was spot on re Uncle getting his pants pulled down by unscrupulous individuals (ie Kia via Hughes). |
