DK, all I'm saying is you don't go full on devout, huge beard Muslim in installments. Of course, there are moderate Muslim's out there that dress totally Western. I've never known a European convert to Islam and initially be moderate, but end up dressing like Ready looks in this picture.
I am off course making a few assumptions and I'm happy to be told otherwise if I'm wrong.

Karl Ready had very chiselled features. The guy in the pic doesn't really resemble him at all. It kind of does look like him but has just filled out a bit, hence slightly less chiselled!  |

But I actually had a friend from school, who was in some ways a searching soul. He also had a spell, where he was in doubt as to his sexual identity iirc. At one point he met a muslim girl and converted to islam. And as he was quite meticulous, he obviously started with all the praying and customs, and eventually some of the clothing etc., so he may have come close to the Ready scenario at one point. Don't know how it all ended though, but I think he has returned to a more modest form of lunacy  |

I've dated a couple of Muslim girls mate. 1 Lebanese girl I was reasonably serious with prior to leaving Dubai. It was always a bit awkward though. Family expectations on her side etc. There was never any danger of me adopting Islam though. To an extent this was part of what went wrong. I think her expectations were for me to convert (more in order to get married, than cos I intended to follow any religion), and then to get married. Things collapsed pretty quickly once I realised this was what she was expecting! |
