squad numbers have been released. willock is given the number 7 shirt whereas stef takes barbet's old number 6. sadly there's no "exciting" numbers leftover for new signings

Seems odd why U21 player Mahoney get a squad number and Armstrong did not.

Seems odd why U21 player Mahoney get a squad number and Armstrong did not. Probably because he's going on loan?

Seems odd why U21 player Mahoney get a squad number and Armstrong did not. My opinion, the manager is playing a balancing act with his ego.

When I saw Armstrong playing for U23 last season he was the most vocal player of both teams on the pitch. I hope he has got a big opinion of himself. Maybe it’s because Mahoney has played a number of first team games in comparison to Gubbins,Boyd and Armstrong.

It's the funny business with his agent and the bullshit stories being leaked to the press that makes me wonder more than how he acts on the pitch mate.

As he is u21 & homegrown, Armstrong doesn't need to be registered in the 25 man squad / have a squad number. He can play in games & be given an ad-hoc squad number.
Also, not entirely sure why some seem to think he is our saviour? The lad hasn't ever played a minute of league football.
Don't get me wrong, he may turn out to be a talent. But I trust the coaches with the badges who see him on the training pitch every day to judge if he is good enough to be involved in the first team or not yet.

I’m well aware about the U21 rule, it still don’t explain why Mahoney gets one and Armstrong don’t?
Think most punters who have seen Armstrong play in friendlies and U23s are entitled to think he’s far away better option than Dykes.
Was’nt Hendrick also judged by badged coaches worthy of a start? Whoever decided that wants shooting.

With JCS, Paal, Richards and Roberts surely our squad is stronger than last season?
