Some on here don't want to believe it because it suits their narrative that the board are somehow sitting on bundles of cash and just not spending it, but no one has come up with any evidence that our CEO is lying. It also fits in with the kind of figures being talked about at comparable clubs. And it would be surprising if he were lying as when the next set of accounts are published, he will have been shown to have lied - which would make his position at best uncomfortable. |

I've just been looking at the last set of published accounts which cover 2021, and the losses sustained then do not tally with the figures you quote. You may be right, but the truth is no one actually knows. For instance this year they've had a fair slice of rights money and are due the Beale pay off. Secondly, one way to combat the running losses would be to make the club more successful, and that involves spending. Our problem is that we've spent so badly. Thirdly, we could save money by taking the axe to the large non playing staff contingent. Run a skeleton crew for a while and concentrate expenditure where it counts - on the park. |

WBA have a recent track record of losing their best academy products to other clubs though, tim longname was originally from their academy before he was snapped up by villa for example. |
