If I was guessing which players didn’t feel good before the Luton game Roberts would be my choice,In the past MB has said “most players carry niggles into games” Roberts probably has the most to lose if he sustains an injury with the WC coming up and maybe it’s understandable with his injury record that he could be concerned if he doesn’t feel 100%. Earlier in the season I think he signalled to the bench to come off but MB kept him on. He needs to improve what he's doing to make the squad, even if he isn't injured at the moment. Not doing badly but not been great in the same breath. I would guess Ethan Lairds banter at the end of the recent inside training video is aimed at Roberts. |

He threw himself to the floor clutching his leg whilst making sub signals and mentioned the WC to a teamate that cannot be seen. If it was aimed at Roberts, dead right - even Nick London was saying he goes down way too easily and the otherwise excellent London can sometimes annoy me by being so ridiculously biased (seeing a foul in every tackle on a Rangers player while a Rangers player could break someone's leg and he would be saying "all looked a bit innocuous, nothing much in that..."). |
