The media are taking for granted that he's on his bike but they (Wolves) have only just had permission to speak to him. Could take a while longer before anyone knows anything. It's all about money and ambition. It puts Mick in a good place to extricate guarantees re January. If the board can't/wont do that, then he might as well look elsewhere. I've seen loads of odds on managerial shots overturned - the market is very reactive, I wouldn't touch 1-7 (skybet) beale said yesterday that he hasn't had any direct contact from wolves which means they probably contacted his agent to hash out a deal imo. reports are saying he's sadly very keen on the job. it'll be an interesting atmosphere tonight and i imagine beale's behaviour at the end of the game will be very telling. Well if he is walking round waving goodbye it won't be well received, that is for sure. |

i'd normally agree that its just paper talk if there weren't so many reporting it, plus theathletic have reported on it too and they're known for being incredibly reliable sources.
our only chance of keeping him is the hope that his early cancelation fee on his house is enormous imo.

The industry needs to take a look at itself when a Manager can just welch on a 3 year deal after 15 games and it's considered normal. I see people on here saying he'd get sacked just as quick it it weren't going well. Maybe so, but the difference is he'd be paid up the whole of his 3 year deal if we sacked him. |

I can’t help but think the club need to learn a lesson around this particular approach for MB because I would guess even if he turns down Wolves it’s a distinct possibility somebody else will come in at some stage.
Brighton were reportedly paying Potter £2m a year with only one year remaining on his contract before receiving £18m compensation due to his contract clause.

It would seem to me if Wolves are willing to meet a compensation clause in MB contract it is only common courtesy and stupid on his part not to hear what they have got to say. I’m still in “he will stay” camp. If what we are building here really excited him he wouldn't be off to talk to Wolves. |

The way these people tick is that always think they can improve sides / players with their techniques, ability and knowledge. They don’t look at stats and think oh I’ll leave that. He’ll be on massively increased wages, massive bonuses he will earn per point, per win, per league position and gets to work in the biggest and best league in the world. It’s an absolute no brainer in all honesty. |
