...in a different galaxy... It must be nice to be a team in the flush of this kind of romance - fans and owners embarking on the epic journey of the famed FA Cup (not to mention the football league). Once upon a time, in recent memory even, we were definitely on that journey - albeit our own QPR version, when Olly was the leader of the tribe and Loftus Road was our cave. That was an epic journey that for me, crescendoed when we were promoted under Sir Neil Warnock in 2011. You could say the 2014 play-off final was a last hurrah, but the wheels had already come off that first season back in the prem. It takes a long time to mount the energy for this kind of campaign. Not all teams can make it - and certainly not at the same time. Such is the nature and narrative of football. We're currently drifting in football limbo. The strange doldrums of the fabled FFPacific ocean. But my real question is: why do *we* sign up for this journey? Surely it's because we want to share the glory when it's good? As well as the tribal bonding that comes with being the fan of a team - particularly a cosy little local one like ours. We're just really not so happy when it's bad. But at this point, aren't you entitled to just say, what the heck, I'm not going get bothered by it? Or is that verboten in the unspoken football code? Because truly friends I can't be arsed to be bothered by all of this. I just want to enjoy my life. Mind you, if you're still enjoying it when it's bad, fair play, crack on.

Part II Or maybe Critchley can turn it around. FFS. Hope springs eternal. I liked his post-match interview. Heads will roll! This football habit is hard to break...
