Anyone else got this in their music collection? Was going through some old stuff and stumbled across this classic. Brings back a few memories. Used to live in Clapham in my 20s with a few lads. One night after few too many light ales, I go home, leaving others to get a kebab. It’s was one of those “you never pulled in the old days, Rodders!” evenings.
My memory of going home is non existent but I obviously stumbled home and got into bed but not before I’d stuck the QPR album on. I had an old stereo, from my dad, who’d died recently and it was old but had some great speakers. Anyway, I must have stuck it on because when my mates got to end of the road they could hear “Stan the Man” blasting out. “Fuck sake, he’s put that bloody qpr album on at 3 in the morning”. Few neighbours came out, some rugby lads from next door threatening to chuck brick through window. Argument ensues as mate saying, “you still won’t wake him up after he’s drunk his own body weight in lager”. Lots of shouting during “Oh OH OH what a lovely game”……was when I heard it back in the morning quite funny song to be playing with all the aggro. I like to think that qpr album touched a lot of people’s souls in Clapham that night.

Stanley said he would rearrange a lot of the music. He would add more base and light strings with some synths.

Stanley said he would rearrange a lot of the music. He would add more base and light strings with some synths. Yea but that'll work best as a one off single as won't really fit on our next album. Similar style though.. I once wrote a Charlie Austin chant that'll need adapting if and when we ever sign a striker. That could be on the b-side. The a-side is a QPR theme which will have the light strings and synth. James' album sounds good - will check it out for some inspiration.
