Mate of mine's lad has been banging em in for Yeovil Town's u15 & u16 at the rate of two a game. When he plays for his school he knocks in three or four on a pretty regular basis. In other words, he's useful. Out and out striker.
His dad's a realist and we all know that being outstanding at that age group could mean nothing at all long term. He's happy for him to carry on doing what he's doing, but we did discuss someone popping down to take a look at him at some point. Being Yeovil scouts are pretty thin on the ground. Sadly his dad has also been unwell recently, and I've been wondering - inevitably - if there any LR scouts who work down this neck of the woods... if only for a bit of feedback really.
Anyone got any ideas? The progression for him would be Yeovil U16 age group next September.

He can go for trials at other teams depending on what I’d deal he on with yeovil

He can go to tier 1 academy from anywhere. You are correct about distance restrictions for our tier clubs.

When my lad was at southend 10 years ago he had mates at Dagenham arsenal spurs ipswich miwall orient and chesea from the youth side he played for( chemsford city) and one of them even got poached to Norwich, hence tier systems travel thing.

We've now passed his CV on to Andy Belk. Having read it in detail his figures look truly remarkable. Be interesting to monitor this and see where it goes. Thanks Hal for the contact and forwarding this.

I'll give Sean a bell and see if anyone's been in touch.... Hal, I've been in regular contact with Sean since January and have passed George's CV and all his reports on to Andy Belk. Really done all I can for now, it's just up to the club to follow it up. Think they'd be mad not to personally. Since you began this thread he's continued going from strength to strength and really seems like an excellent prospect. As of today however the club have still not been in contact. I sent them a chaser this morning after getting an update from Sean yesterday. The saying 'Don't look a gift horse in the mouth comes to mind' and I'm pretty sure another club will snap him up if we don't. |

We live around 40 miles from London and a friend's 13 year old boy was offered a place at Fulham on the condition they moved closer. They sold up and moved to Wandsworth. Sadly he didn't make it and was released at 16 - now playing for Lewes. |

Don't bet on it Stan. The club in its current iteration has proved how utterly useless it is at identifying young players. Did you get any response from any of your emails? Amazing that you're doing this mate: proper fan action!

Still think as we not top tier academy he not eligible unless he super duper and they put him in local digs. Going by his record to date he clearly falls under that category. |

But the kid will have to relocate, tier2 has criteria on distance. Deff worth bringing up for trial. Not saying it not doable but lot of hoops to jump through. |

Do they scout lower levels? There's a kid at my nephews football team, under 11s, that is clearly so much better than everyone else. He's little, but mighty. He plays rugby and is a proper nutter, he will literally go full throttle at everyone.
Played in a local final on Sat, scored 4. Played Sunday for rugby and got player of the tournament. Travels to QPR home and away with his Dad.
Technically, he's great and got the winning mindset of being fearless. Do the club scout at that level? If so, how do I point them in his direction.

Went to see him playing for Yeo U15s at Huish Park on the big pitch, final game of season vs Newton Abbot. Yeovil won 3-0. He scored two and got the assist for the third.
He's two footed, good in the air, decent link ups (he started on his own up front). Has some pace. He's a big lad, looks strong enough.
Problem with U15s is that some of them look 17 and some of them look about 12. I'd like to see how he got on in an older age group for a game or two, that would be informative.
Turned out for his Sunday side the next day and notched up another one. It's important to keep all this in perspective, but I hope he gets his chance at a higher level.
Exeter have a decent academy and from what I can gather he could be headed in that direction at some point.
