We have focused this season on getting some of our kids some experience and rightly so.
I think we’re missing a trick though, given our location and some of the clubs that surround us, that were not picking up some of the high potential kids from Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham
Not talking about loads but two or three to bolster us.
Why do the above consider sending their players all over the country but not up the road to us
Thoughts??

i agree fully. reece james for example was one of the best defenders in the championship this season at wigan on loan from chelsea. it makes no sense as to why we're not bringing in these london based youngsters on loan as i reckon that they'd jump at the chance to loan them to us like you said.
there are probably dozens and dozens of players that we could take on loan and it'd be better than scraping the barrell like we currently do. we have no money to spend so why not bring some talented youngster on loan? i hope we do next season

When Huddersfield went up there team had two Chelsea kids
Is Mason Mount who is getting rave reviews at Derby not also from Chelsea. Brentford had few from Chelsea and Arsenal last few years
Fulham have Chelsea kid in their promotion season last year?

Could be to do with the amount of “loan fees” these clubs are demanding. I guess if most clubs in the division are happy to take them and make them an integral part of their sides, then they are prepared to pay for the privilege.

Mainly because these clubs require a very large loan fee. Players are able to negotiate their own loan contracts often at higher wages than they are getting. Bigger clubs look on this as a business hoping eventually to sell the player not develop him and make some money in the mean time.

Was listening to the Open All R’s podcast earlier and was gobsmacked to hear some of the salaries we are allegedly paying to loanees.
They reckon that it is in the region of £135k pw, for loan players, although we appear to have dodged the loan fees. And I was told by someone who should have known better recently, that Hemed is on £35k and Wells on £25k.
Kevin Gallen highlighted what is likely to be the biggest strain on our finances, being the grossly inflated salaries compared to ability. He thought that Bidwell for example would be on somewhere in the region of £13k-£15k pw, when in fact we should be able to get players of similar ability for about half that. As he said, it’s all very well saying we need a bigger ground to generate more revenue, but if you just waste it like that, what’s the point?

I think we should also look to Europe to loan players just like Wolves etc. They'd probably be cheaper than from England too

Those on loan and out of contract won't be here next season. We simply can't afford them. It's criminal what we did in the last transfer window. The money we've spent on these loan signings could have been used a lot more wisely. The good news however is that those out of contract this summer are the last of the big earners. This is why this next managerial appointment is so important. We really do have a rebuilding job on our hands in the transfer window.

Should really be down to the DOF.No matter what manager comes in there should be a system in place. Managers only look at the short term to protect their jobs. We need a long term strategy that we stick to no matter if the Manager stays or goes. That way everybody in the place knows their role regardless. Time for LF to earn his money and without interference from the Board.
