Almost signed for us too apparently.
I met him once when I played for Highgate Boys School and we were away to Lancing College on the south coast. He happened to be a guest that day and confronted some of their lads after the game in the dining hall when they were making some racist comments. They quickly shut up when a legendary Spurs player overhears and comes up to challenge them. We were all about 15/16 at the time so naturally it made a lasting impression.
Thanks for posting that Sparks. Great watch.

Didn’t he have a sports shop in Uxbridge? Not too far from there, Uxbridge Road, Hayes End. I used to buy my boots there as a kid. He lived near my school in Ickenham. We were doing cross country one day and saw him driving up the road so shouted Yiddo.. The wanker only came down to the school and complained. Class hauled up in front of the head of year but thankfully nobody grassed and he didn’t take it as far as coming down again to ID anyone. I never went back to his shop after that, just in case😆 |
