Poor today on every front. No system a midfield with no legs and no chance of the forwards scoring. Why did he pick Dozzell and then more puzzling why was he kept on? Why did Chair go back to pissing about when the two lumps needed early crosses.Coventry were at their most dangerous when we attacked their goal and two balls later they are in on goal. When you watch us today you realise what a terrible job the D.O.F and recruitment team have assembling such a poor, unbalanced and lifeless squad over the past few years. great for fuck all outlay😀

Some managers work wonders in small underdog teams but are lost in bigger ones. Ainsworth seems to be one of those.

Would any other championship club needing a manager to go up or stay up have gone for Ainsworth. That tells you everything you need to know.

Ainsworth has inhereted the worst club in England. No midfield and no idea that if you shoot you might actually cause teams problems

He's got to go. He won't go, because he's proud, and will think he has to try and turn this around... but he can't. I have to admit that sentiment played a part in me deluding myself into thinking that - given the right opportunity - Ainsworth could prove his worth as a manager. But all those people who said he was just a basic, motivator-manager, with no real technical/tactical ability, were right. He's actually made this team worse. He should go, but he won't.

I can't believe people won't see how shit our players are. Any manager would have trouble turning shit into gold. It's not GA. Blame Beale and Critchley. He's the next scapegoat

You can see how a good manager can turn things around: Aston Villa, Crystal Palace. Ainsworth hasn't had ANY positive impact.

I think we might be a tad too harsh writing GA off this early.
Lets not forget he inherited a team who were serial losers. Beale lost his last 4-5 in a row, Paul Hall got battered in his only game, Critchley won 1 match from 12 albeit he had some draws but still poor. It's not like GA has created this. I think it's the style of football that's really grating on people but a couple of facts we should consider.
1) He has to try anything and everything style wise & selection wise whether we agree with his choices or not.
2) He inherited a team with a losing mentality and very little fight not to mention big injury issues.
3) As acknowledged by most on here the bulk of our downfall is down to players mistakes and our own doing. Things no manager can really influence.
Don't get me wrong, do I think he's the right man for us? no I don't but he's here and I think the problems started and go way beyond him.
For the record, I thought his starting XI yesterday was wrong and I thought his subs were way too late but that goes back to point 1 above.

Also, Critchley played mainly teams in top half of league. With Ainsworth we’re losing to the crap sides too. Also - Sheffield and Swansea at home, we conceded very late. With Sheffield, 96th minute. We deserved to win those 2 and were unlucky. Chair also missed penalty to make it 1-1 against Sunderland. How many of Ainsworth losses can you say, we were unlucky? 4 points is about right from his 9 league games.

Jimmy and Timmy's last posts encapsulate the situation well:
Yes Timmy, a good manager CAN turn things around. You mention Villa and Palace, but what about the job Gary O'Neil has done for Bournemouth? They looked absolutely nailed-on for relegation a few months ago.
So, to what Jimmy says: Ainsworth has walked into a really difficult situation, so it's not all his fault.
How do you reconcile the first statement with the second? I don't think you can. I really like GA, I loved him as a player, but he's clearly not good enough. There's no way you can gloss over that basic fact. All the huffing and puffing and hakaing in the world wasn't going to - and hasn't - made a difference. We saw what a proper coach can do earlier in the season, with Beale the Eel. The question is, what should the board have done? Well, firstly, they probably should have stuck by their guns and kept Critchley. A very hard decision, for sure, but if your solution is to rip up everything you said you're trying to achieve and knee-jerk appoint someone who is basically the opposite of what you say you want in a manager, then you're asking for trouble. It's very, very poor from Les and the board, and telling that Les snuck off to Hong Kong recently rather than face the music.
There were better managers out there than Critchley, and absolutely better managers than Ainsworth. The board have spectactularly failed. Ainsworth is not the answer.

I should add to my post above, to further reiterate my point, that in a horrible case of irony, Chelsea have done exactly what this board has done, with identical results. But I suppose it's a kind of tin lining to the QPR cloud, watching Phat Phrank phuck up.

If we are going to nit pick over a missed chance here and a penalty there we would be here all week. Example. If Dickie had not made a stupid fucking needless foul 20 yards from our goal last week against WBA we'd have got a win. It's all ifs, buts and maybes. My point being IMO Critchley had slightly better results, slightly but was still shit in his 12 games but in fairness to him he also inherited what GA has, a side on their arses totally drained of ideas and confidence. We needed to stick with Critchley whatever the outcome and let him rebuild the sides confidence and fortunes but we didn't. Now GA is here we need to do the very same thing we didn't afford Critchley. We can't keep sacking people when the same problems are still there.

It’s very honest for you to say that Ainsworth was a bad call Hubble as it would be much easier to say let him rebuild next season.
I’m not trying to defend either Ferdinand or Hoos but they did attend yesterdays game in a very empty directors section of the SA Rd stand.
