What do you think they would say, particularly Beale. Beale isn’t the first football manager to shit on a club. No he’s not. But he’s hardly earned the right, albeit hypothetically, to criticise Ainsworth.

He’s only trying to bring a bit of reality to the situation so what’s the issue.

Don’t you think it’s a bit rich for him to be taking side swipes at all and sundry before he’s done anything like actually steadied the ship? As to the reality bit, has the playing staff (first team regulars) changed so much from the beginning of last season that we start as relegation favourites with just about everybody in football? Its not too difficult to suggest that’s purely down to his own negative vibes and how we finished last season under him.

You can’t be serious with that statement surely? We started losing games under Beale before he monumentally shat on the players. Critchley wasn’t given long enough but hardly pulled up any trees. One of our only decent players, Willock, out injured for a fair few games then playing on unfit, mentally and physically. No proper goal scorer for years and the rest of the team bang average at best. Morale in the dressing room on its arse. Zilch profit made on players to generate income, which is how other similar clubs keep afloat. But no, it’s all down to Ainsworths negative vibes😆

The running of the club over the last 12 years is the reason we are now where we are. Hughes being given shit loads of signings all past their sell by date got the ball rolling then not sacking him till December while we never won a game. Then Redknapp and Ramsey who is now been brought back to the club then you have Ferdinand and the recruitment team with signing like Washington, Bonne and the like. We are paying for all the above and more purely down to the idiots at the top of the club. I cannot stand Beale but maybe he would have been the one to open up how rotten we are ad a club.

You forgot about how we finished under Ainsworth not just his negative vibes.
Whatever you wish to say about Beale he walked the walk with basically the same set of players.
The rest of your reply ie injuries etc has been similar for the past 3 or 4 seasons and we were never relegation favs before a ball was kicked🧐

Having given it some thought what’s even more alarming is do we actually have a style of play now?
We’re all saying it’s direct/long ball but the manager has said we will mix it up depending on the opposition. I personally don’t think we have the players with the ability to play multiple styles. I’m tempted to say choose a style perfect it and be as good as we can at it so we have a chance. How do you mix up tippy tappy to long ball with chair and Willock. Surely you play the hand you are dealt? The squad like it or not is built to play football not lump it.
Currently feels like the game plan is to try hard and come up with a plan to overcome the team we’re having. So in theory we’re worrying about them instead of them worrying about us.
I think todays game will be very telling

As I said, Willock was virtually carrying the team under Beale and he hasn’t been right for ages. You said earlier that you understand why Beale left. I think we all do to be honest, it’s just he went about it that’s the issue for most. Here’s a thing though. If Beale felt he’d been duped regarding the clubs position and it’s clear to everyone that we have very little money to spend, that would put a lot of managers off coming here. But one has and he’s bang up for the trying to prove people wrong. Personally I’ll give him the opportunity. And by that I mean a reasonable amount of games with some new faces in the squad and other key players fit, before writing him off. You obviously have just as much right to make your call now but trying to say we are in this position because of GA is not really true, no matter how many times you say it.

Was interesting to read that Ismael had initial problems with players turning up late for training.
Instead of going abroad they stayed at home and worked hard on fitness at England training ground.
I’m guessing his Barnsley style of football will be similar to ours.

Have no problem at all with GA telling it like it is with a hefty dose of realism. Far prefer that to have what we have had the last few years with the board constantly spouting the aim was a play off spot. Either they were simply lying or consistently failing miserably.

I do think Ainsworth’s negativity will have been factored in by the ‘experts’ forecasting our season. You can’t make statements which give away your true feelings about the strength of the playing staff. Managers that do that are usually engineering their way out with a pay off. Too early for that.

We'll not get much idea from his rhetoric either. So your final sentence is really where it's at and the rest can be speculated on endlessly IMO.

You took exception to my post hoping he would stop spouting off to the press, I stand by that and hope he concentrates more on getting results or decent performances. Partly. And the fact that you seem to be holding him responsible for a lot more issues at the club than is correct. You clearly don’t want him here but at least keep some perspective. On the point about him spouting off, everything I’ve read in the press suggests their opinions on us this season are based on the lack of quality and depth in the squad.. By saying morale was low etc etc, players were brought back from injury too early etc etc he is trying trying, in a roundabout way to highlight to the players that they’re not entirely shit and a lot of our issues go deeper than that. I’d say that’s quite important going into what’s going to be our toughest season for a very long time.

Have you seen the article? I would suggest he’s giving the press the ammo to demoralise fans like me…are injuries going to be different this season? If he’s successful I want him here, if he’s not then I don’t. Do you think articles like this are helpful to the club? Or more importantly to its fans or owner? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66401076

Or more importantly to its fans or owner? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66401076Yep, I’ve seen it. I don’t get what’s wrong with it. He’s saying the bookies are writing us off and making the point they’ve been proved wrong before. That the team was shot to pieces when he came in, which it was. That there’s still significant issues and hurdles, FFP being one of them. That we don’t have the top top players we’ve had in the past. The players aren’t completely stupid and they know their limitations. Amongst other things it was blindingly obvious we lacked leaders on the pitch. The players understand that, not everyone wants to or is cut out to lead. He’s simply saying that’s one of the areas we struggled in and he’s working on it. He’s trying to bring some realism to the situation whilst at the same time trying to offer some positives. So the players and fans buy into what’s going to be a massive effort this season to be competitive. In his opinion, if fans buy into it and give the players and him some time, things should turn around. I wouldn’t say that’s negative vibes. Like you say, let’s see how he fairs. We might be bottom after a couple of games but let’s see how it goes. Unless of course you have some names of other managers who are available and you know would definitely come to our basket case club? And that we can afford?

You say lots of things in there Itso that I could easily create a completely opposite outlook for his actions, perhaps it’s best to disagree and see how it pans out. After the Blackburn home game is my prediction. Your last comment about what manager would I suggest is completely immaterial to wether Ainsworth should be kept on regardless, but just to entertain you how about the Man City youth coach who was linked when Critchley was appointed, his name escapes me right now.He also managed a lower league team.
I would also explain its not my occupation to know who is a capable replacement.

Seems to me the previous 'footballing' model from McClaren, Warbs, Beale & Critchley is now completely out the window and this season is purely about survival by whatever means necessary (playing style included). And if GA DOES have a remit then that is it. Pragmatism and needs must - playing style will always be secondary to this i.e. NOT getting relegated.
