Could see club in the lower leagues for an extended period being passed by better run clubs with less overheads. We've been passed by better better run clubs with similar overheads too.

Oh, I should have added that the mismanagement started with Tony Fernandes, of course, so it's certainly not all down to Les, but as DOF he has to bear a large measure of responsibility for what has happened on his watch.

Yeah but it has been 8 years. We can’t still blame the amount we spent in the Prem and then getting back to the Prem. Not only have we regressed on the field but our accounts are also shocking. Only reason we aren’t bankrupt is due to owners putting money in.

I know some get all dewy eyed thinking about dropping down a league, assembling a hard working squad we can relate to & winning loads of games and coming back up again, but let's have it right... Going down would be disastrous for the club. Whether we're dewy eyed or not, we're going down, so people might as well start getting used to the idea. Whether it will be 'disastrous' remains to be seen. It's certainly not the scenario we'd like, BUT if it means an enforced root and branch reform, it could still end up being beneficial. What's clear is that the way this club has been mismanaged since the appointment of Les Ferdinand as DOF certainly has been disastrous, and if relegation is the only way to change that... well, wouldn't you consider that to be a benefit? Mind you, if he stays on.... yeah, then we truly are fucked, relegation or not. key word is IF!! Owners previous record suggests there won’t be any meaningful root or branch review just more of the same so more of the same in a lower league.

No chance that we are staying up IMO. Worst team in recent history by a country mile.
Just want this season over with and us to start fresh with Ainsworth's squad.

So, which league one grounds are you looking forward to visiting? Me, I'd like to go to Lincoln, never been there, not even to the city. Bristol Rovers ground is a lovely old place, I went there to see them last September, obviously without any idea we could be playing there next season! I'd also like to go to Exeter and tie that in with a trip to the West Country. At least there are more teams in the southern half of England than the championship.

I see Hubs is bucking the trend here and putting a real positive spin on all this. Good to see. I've always believed if you can't cry you may as well laugh!

A very positive bloke. Yes Croyds. I'm quite philosophical about our plight too. If we go down it's because we deserve it so I'd have no complaints about that, other than to the board who have royally fucked up the running of our great club. Yes, people of course blame Les and Lee, but ultimately the buck stops with the owners who hired these people, left them in charge way beyond their sell by date by making them completely untouchable and unaccountable for their extraordinary litany of failures.

In Barcelona at the moment and visited the Nou Camp yesterday. The wife said to me I bet you can only imagine what it would be like to see Rangers play here one day. I quickly replied sod the Nou Camp, I’d be grateful to see them play at the Pikey camp, aka Kenilworth Rd, for the next few years.

of the players we have, who do you think will still be here next season, assuming we're relegated.
i have kakay, dunne, dickie, dozzell, armstrong, dozzell, JCS, albert, kelman and richards (unless he has a relegation clause in his contract) as players who'll likely still be here.
walsh will probably be given the gloves but there's still a lot of rebuilding to be done. armstrong and kakay would excell in league 1 but its still rather bleak. if we get relegated though i don't think it will initially be a nail in the coffin as the sale of our star players would more than make up for the loss in revenue and give us some money to spend, not only that but we'd be a big fish in a small pond so there we could still attract championship standard free agents.
only problem is we'd need to go up right away lol.

Only positive would be at least we could loan out some of our youngsters to ourselves and we’d get a chance to see if they are going to make it 😁

Let’s be honest, there’s not one positive at all for relegation. Staff be made redundant for a start.

may as well start the thread now. i genuinely can't see us staying up now. not great but hey, there are some closer away days. Been saying to people for months not a chance in hell we go down. All we need is 2 wins. Well fuck me. Still waiting for that second win and even that won't be enough the way it's looking. What a bastard shit football team we support. Without that Watford win we'd already be in the drop zone. Absolutely shocking form.
