To make clear this is NOT an Ainsworth out thread but more so we can put forward names of potential up and coming coaches and managers club should be keeping eye on.
Shania has often put forwards names because she is attached to another market we don’t hear much about which is informative.
If we’re run properly, even if we’re performing well, club probably should always keep a list of 2 or 3 potential replacements so they’re ahead of the game. They seem to have had plan in getting beale but felt like Critchley and Ainsworth were panic appointments.
So any names of managers or coaches we should be monitoring who have impressed you so far and could make step up.
Personally like look of Gary ONeill plus Barry Robson at Aberdeen has absolutely transformed the results and style and when he speaks has bit of Amex Ferguson about him. Two I would keep tabs on.

christian ilzer was someone i mentioned after the eel ldft. he's manager of sturm graz in austria but has turned them into a top austrian team on a shoestring budget all while developing+selling players and plays good football.
we could have probably brought him in after the eel went but no chance now as i feel like his stock is too high for us.

Like someone suggested about getting the deputies from like Brighton and Brentford for DOF and analysts given how well Brentford have done promoting within surely should have eye on their back room staff.

Problem is, mate, Whoever we get wont be able to develop players on their own. They need to bring in an awful lot of backroom staff and acadamy coaches who are skilled. There will be no room for these QUALIFIED staff as long as Ramsey, hall and friends are still stealing a living here.

Right now, just until the end of the season, i would look to bring in terry O'Conner into the coaching team. having been dumped along with Mick Mack at blackpool this past week. Terry has tons of experience and knows about relegation battles and hardening up players for the run ins. Maybe too little too late but its better to try something than do nothing. bring Terry in to work alongside the drag queen until the end of season and bin hall.
Then, whatever happens at the end of the season, dismantle the whole rotten structure at the club and start recruiting proper people based on ability and availability for the required roles within all areas of the club.

Whether we stay up or go down, Ainsworth has to go. Liam Richardson would be a good choice to replace him, I think.

Yeah, Liam Manning would be good too. Anyone called Liam, in fact.
Manning was appointed OU manager 4 weeks ago, by the way. We could have had him instead of Ainsworth...

Liam Manning? The same Liam Manning who’s had the sum total of 14 months experience managing in the EFL. He was sacked from MK dons after they were second from bottom of league one, only on goal difference. Since taking over at Oxford they’ve played 5 or 6 games and haven’t won yet. So from the last 26 matches he’s managed in league one he’s picked up 18 points. If he’s the answer then we really are fucked as a club.

Manning looks like he’s stopped the slide at Oxford, 5 games played 4 draws and 1 loss. It’s not unusual for inexperienced managers to make mistakes early in their career.
He did very well at MK Dons in his first season got them to playoffs with many players picked up on free transfers and loans, eventually made them around £7m in transfer sales last season.
I would much rather have taken him than Ainsworth as at least his teams play football the right way rather than the war games we see now.

I would much rather have taken him than Ainsworth as at least his teams play football the right way rather than the war games we see now. Given we don’t have a meaningful midfield can Ainsworth really be blamed. Let’s face it, Willock pretty much carried this team and he’s far from the player he was. Stephan is fucked as well. The rest of them are bang average championship players at best, some not even that level. To make matters worse they are underperforming even when being judged that level. The rot started well before Ainsworth so getting rid now seems a bit premature. We’re likely to go down so the main focus should be getting back up at the earliest possible opportunity, any which way. Developing players to sell or indeed bringing players through the ranks can wait for another day. Even Warnock didn’t develop players when here, he picked up players that a lot of us thought were has beens but brought the best out of them. With a massive slice of good fortune in Adel who could have been a disaster if it hadn’t worked out. What we need is a manager to galvanise a group of players and develop a far stronger mentality on the pitch than we’ve had for some time. Ainsworth might or might not be that manager but surely he has to be given a bit of time with some new faces.

Club needs a proper manager not a team coach. Coaches work under a manager not a committee. Once we’ve got sorted and a winning mentality back in the club then we can start looking at ‘projects’.

Under Warburton, Beale, Critchley we passed the ball. Before Ainsworth had been appointed some misguided souls were saying he would be capable of adapting with better players..That clearly hasn’t been the case.
None of our current team are suited to Ainsworth play style bar Dykes and it’s being highlighted in results. It’s a huge mistake to even consider keeping Ainsworth beyond the end of the season but you are of course entitled to have a different oppion Itsonlyagame.

Fair enough Sparks it’s all about opinions as you say. In terms of that passing style referred to, it may have worked for a while but not for quite some time, well before Ainsworth. Which sort of proves the point that the better players within our team that facilitated that approach either suffered injuries or loss of form. It’s also worth making the point that passing alone clearly didn’t win games. Like I said, our midfield is shite, pure and simple, mainly because Willock is not fully fit and Stef is a passenger. So there is a valid argument for long ball, if the players do it properly. Problem is the players haven’t done much properly for quite some time, regardless of the system.
