Am I the only one who is bothered and thinks giving the naming rights of our stadium to a charity next year is a load of bollox?
Here we are a club financially struggling to compete due to FFP and one of the assets we do have that we can generate funds from is to sell our naming rights or get the stadium sponsored.
So why are we giving it away?
I’m not a heartless b****** and the gesture is very honourable but this club is still a business and I just can’t understand why we are going down this route.
It sounds awful but the name of the stadium will be proper pony next season as well.
Maybe it’s just me being an old grumpy git but interested to know what everyone else thinks about this.

It's possibly a ploy to get H&F onside regarding the negotiations over Linford Christie Stadium. H&F want more fan input at the club and this could just be a sop by the board. The fair market value for the naming rights at QPR is around 300k-500k which would be neither here nor there to the Tune Group etc. I am not that fussed about it and it makes more good publicity for the club, remember when Barca sponsored UNICEF and the good publicity that brought about?

I think "Lunchbox Road" should get the nod in preparation for moving to the Linford Christie Stadium.

I think I’m one of the few who don’t care if the stadium is named. When we went playoffs in the build up who was saying to their mates were going EE Stadium tomorrow??
I know this first effort is for charity but after this if there is money to be made then why would you not take it. Fans will still call it Loftus Road. I think we get out knickers in a twist over nothing.
If Tesco said to me can we call your house Tesco Lodge and we will give £250k to do so I would take the money and change the sign in a blink of an eye.

it's obvious that it's just for PR reasons and to get in the council's good books. the only strange thing is that we didn't get a company to sponsor the stadium name just to earn a few extra $$$ but either way it's not gunna affect us if it's called loftus road or the oxfam stadium as we'll all still refer to it as loftus road anyway
