The flaws you mention are why he is still with us and not in the Premier League. He's been coached by Holloway, Mclaren, Warburton, Beale, Critchley and now Ainsworth, plus his manager at Stevenage and youth levels. Not going to change hes now 26. Agreed. He'd have had his PL move by now if he was good enough.

Subs were too late. Not sure why Albert was before Richards or Willock. Unbelievable, wasn't it? Minute Albert starts moving he looks about 45. Ainsworth just doesn't see it.

It's a simple game, amazing how often people ignore the blindingly obvious. btw The nearest we got to that set up was Beale. Critch might have gone there. Forget the rest of them.

Critchley never had a mobile attacking threat. Chair (or any attacking player) needs players who makes runs in behind. No movement, means you can't create.
That's something we had under Beale when Roberts and Willock were also playing.
Dykes made a good run and Chair found him for the goal. Yes, he's too slow and frustrating sometimes but he does create for us. But he himself also needs to run in behind more. Coming 2 yards from the person with the ball isn't good and easy to pick up.

Some really odd decisions and comments after this game.
Laird not even in squad and instead kid played in must win game who got ripped apart last outing and Willock on Bench but not fit enough to play so why put him on the bench.
Richards given 5mins impact game.
Just seems total shambles like we’re operating hour to hour instead of having strategy and it shows on the pitch.

how can laird not get into the team? the only reason must be some sort of bust up, surely?
he's certainly better than drewe in all areas except effort and bravery.
